Silently signing in shifts

For those who watched the Conflikt concerts in person or on streaming video (which I hope I've been out of field of view of, by the way), the three Silent Sisters signing in shifts at the front reminded me of a line from a Zeke Hoskin song:

Three men to an oar, that's the way you crew a trireme
Row a shift and rest for two, and that's a brutal load
