The Great Netflix Catchup

Haven't written about it (or about anything) in a while, but a few highlights include:

Doctor Who Series Five: Not a big Matt Smith fan. Decent enough, but a little too "Boy Genius": to even feel like a Doctor to me.  But Amy and Rory are the best companions to come across in the new series (with Martha as number two/three, and I'm in the minority feeling that way, I know).  I'll need to find someone with cable for the new series.

Henry V: Awww.  Widdle baby Christian Bale.

Whip It:  Meh.  Fun enough.  I'm a fan of Ellen Page and Alia Shawkat, so it was good enough.

Pi: Weird.  So weird.  I liked a lot of aspects of the film, since I'm a math geek at heart.  But it's tough to get your head around.

It Might Get Loud: Documentary about rock guitar.  The artist (Jimmy Page), the technician (The Edge) and the roughneck (Jack White) in a room full of guitars talking shop.  FASCINATING stuff.  Might be the best documentary I've seen in years.

Beyond that:

Lots of Mythbusters.  Lots of Top Gear.  Lots of Ken Burns.  Bits & pieces of old Doctors.  So far I'm liking Tennant, Pertwee, and Troughton the most.  Tom Baker's meh, I think I'm liking the writing of his series more than his actual character.
