Two of The Best, One of The Worst
So the past week or two, the Minnesota Sightings message board on TFW2005 has been filled with Transformers collectors recounting their stories of begging Target employees to go in back and pull out their stock of Transformers Classics before they were to be put on the shelves.
Tears were shed, words were exchanged, names were called.
Sad situation, overall.
I didn't have to do that.
Today I picked up my first two Transformers Classics at Toys R Us. They have a deal going there now where if you get 20 dollars worth of TF, you get a free scout figure. Since I only needed one more scout to complete my collection, I took advantage.
Mixed blessings.
Rodimus and Megatron are both pretty pretty figures. Quite possibly some of the best to come out in their price range in a long time.
As for Backstop...
Well, there's a reason why I never wanted so spend more than zero dollars on him.
His alt mode, a rhinoceros, isn't that bad, I guess. For a seven dollar figure, that is.
But his robot mode...
Sweet mother of mercy, his robot mode.
The page I linked to above doesn't even speak the story. Those are the Japanese versions. The American version has a worse paint job.
Ugh.
