(no subject)
Literal and figurative.
First off, I should REALLY start cleaning up in here. This LJ would be so much nicer if I actually started using tags, put tags on previous posts, that kind of thing.
I was planning on going back to New Mutants sometime in the near future to add some tags as well as to hook in some Previous Chapter / Next Chapter links. I think I might just do that with my whole blog, just start at the beginning and look for themes that might link up: stuff like fanfic areas, Transformers, personal stuff, etc etc etc.
They DO make the world an easier place.
Since my entire weekend revolved around the book, I obviously still have more to say about it. This time, some really fun/interesting/hilarious links that those who either have already finished or don't care about getting spoiled one way or the other might enjoy. Hidden for spoilers, of course.

tkp wrote a fantastic re-write/story/analysis of what some consider to be a somewhat watered-down epilogue. Take a peek, it might be worth your time.
Personally, I didn't take much issue with the epilogue (except for the missing scene, which I've obviously already taken care of it in my own mind). It's short, it's sweet, it's sappy, but it's, you know, a friggin kids book. Most people want to see it, and I think it worked out fine.
Nothing at all wrong with a happy ending with a little bit of a moral at the end.

mctabby did it with Half-Blood Prince (which I'll have to read and soon, and which in itself sounds naughty when I write it out), and did it again with Deathly Hallows: The Rude Bits. All of those lines that were unintentionally perverted. And those that were intentionally perverted, which make more appearances as the series goes on and makes JK Rowling my hero... inne... yeah...
A few of the better ones:
Hermione: "Ooh, you look much tastier than Crabbe and Goyle, Harry!"
"Oh, it's fine," said Luna, sucking her finger in a dreamy fashion and looking Harry up and down.
Hermione again: "She tasted disgusting, worse than Gurdyroots! Okay Ron, come here so I can do you..."
And for all those Harry/Draco shippers: "Malfoy was screaming and holding Harry so tight it hurt."

bibliophile20 (welcome to the friends list, btw) sent me a link that is slowly but surely collecting fan art from the book. Some quality stuff, too. Take a look. Scenes posted so far include the Ron/Hermione kiss (complete with Harry's look of befuddlement), Ron vs. RiddleHarry/RiddleHermione, Neville vs. Nagini. And also some Potterpuff stuff...
- Which I'm going to point to here. Cuz I've been a fan for a while. Luna & Dad at the wedding; the trio on the dragon; Harry, Draco, & the Fiendfyre; and Molly pwning Bellatrix. All done in the Powerpuff Girls style which some love and some despise.
- He also showed me into a comm fic group, which I've never done before, but should be fun. It deals with Year Seven at Hogwarts, and everything that the students and faculty go through under Snape & the Carrows.
- After The Flaw has been... umm... pretty damn big by the standards that my fanfic usually follows. It's been posted to three communities so far: the two that I usually post to (
hp_fanfiction &
genfic_hogwarts), and also got through the moderator for
honestlyronald in the past hour or so. So far I've gotten, um, 21 comments in less than 24 hours. Which is huge by my standards.
And I still haven't posted it to any Harry/Ginny sites.
But I will tonight.
Mwahahahahaha.
- As for what else I'm going to be writing?
I have two ideas percolating in my head. Well, okay, more than two, if Those Left Behind v. 2 gets blended into the comm fic.
One's a wedding.
The other is Meet The Muggles v. 2.
Both should be pretty damn fun.
