It’s well-known that I was to be attending the Evergrey, Children of Bodom, and Iced Earth show. And what a show it was!
I got there around 7 pm, and kinda stood in line for around 35 minutes. In line, I passed the loadig area, and at that point I was like holy shit. Jordans car was right where that tourbus is parked! I seriously can never look at jaxx the same way again. They finally let us in, and I headed straight for the merch table. I spend somewhere around $140 or so. The guy said I was his best customer, haha. I got, a children of bodom zip-hoodie, evergrey shirt, children of bodom shirt, the CoB shirt for Jennifer, and the Evergrey cd-Recreation Day (with a bonus track). I was disappointed, however. They weren’t selling any CoB cds. Damnit. I couldn’t even find them at a show!
So at roughly 8 10 I guess. Evergrey came on. Still as amazing as in august. They had an amazing set, and I was standing right next to the speakers. It was great! The song recreation day is so fucking great live. They closed with the masterplan, my favorite evergrey song. Its so goddamn amazing live. I highly recommend evergrey to EVERYONE reading this. They just kick fucking ass. I cant wait to see them for a third time.
After they were done, I talked with some random guy about my band, and evergrey, and children of bodom. And other random stuff. I still couldn’t believe that I was on that very stage a few months earlier.
So. Children of fucking bodom. Holy shit. First off, evergreys drummer and CoB’s shared the drum kit, which I found kind of weird. But, if they could pull it off (which they did), it’d save major space. And time. So anyway, the band got onstage. And holy shit, I almost touched alexi fucking laiho!!!!!!!! Hes so fucking hot in person. Haha. And goddman. Hes fucking talented as shit!!!!! Amazing set, but the stage was crowded, so there wasn’t really any room for them to move around. But they were still just unbelievable.alexi’s voice sounded great, and of course, the guitarwork was astounding. And the drums. Holy fuck. And the keyboards. Fuck. Everything. Wow. <3333333333333
So after they finished, I went up and bought another evergrey cd-in search of truth. And then I went to go get food. And italked with some guys from north Carolina for a while. Really cool guys; ones an orchestra teacher, and I don’t remember what the other one did. But we talked for a while, until iced earth came on.
Iced earth. Im not a huge fan of theirs, but they ruled ass live. And tim owens. Ex-judas priest singer. Holy crap, that guy has an amazing voice! And Jon Shaffer. Holy crap hhes a great guitarist. So part of the way into the set, and who walks by? Tom fucking englund. Evergrey’s singer/guitarist. I was like holy shit! And I walked over to him and shook his hand. That’s pretty much it…I was too much at loss for words to say anything else. He was the first musician that I actually listen to that I met. And just. Fucking wow.
Around 11 30, my mom came to pick me up. And I got outside, and I noticed that I could barely hear. Fuck. My ears are STILL ringing incredibly loud. But ive regained some hearing. Heh. And recreation day is a fucking great cd.
Well, that was my night. Tonight at jaxx>august 25th at jaxx. Nuff said.
