Oh man, you guys.
I started watching
this James and Mike Mondays video about the new (outside of Japan, anyway)
Godzilla game because I thought it was going to be simply another cool video about the game like the similar
Super Best Friends Play video.
What I got instead of that (or, rather, in addition to that) was a glorious rant about exactly why modern gaming in general, and online gaming in particular, is, indeed, complete horseshit. And I totally 100% agree. The ranting starts in at around 2:50 and mainly lasts until around 7:55, though it was still interspersed throughout the rest of the video, like at 10:40 or so when James picks up the case to show that there was no instruction manual at all, and again later at around 18:35 when they're complaining about having to unlock every little thing.
Despite all of that, based on everything I've seen of the game as a whole, and despite the fact that James and Mike didn't seem to like it all that much, if I ever get around to finally getting a Playstation 4 for myself, I would maybe pick this game up if I found it in a bargain bin somewhere. It looks relatively cool.
Also, this was the first time I'd heard about the existence of
Pee-wee's Big Holiday (which was mentioned in a way that was actually tangentially related to Godzilla, even). I'd known that Paul Reubens has been trying to make a new Pee-wee Herman movie for over a decade now, but he seems to have finally done it (assuming that it actually does see the light of day in the end).
