Here's another prediction for it. Most changes to minecraft will happen after 1.9, when it's branded "Minecraft 2", as a totally different game. People will need to re-buy it. Windows Binary executable, with plugins and mods sold as paid DLC.
Of course, if they DO do that (companies shoot themselves in the foot all the time.) expect the sequel to bomb.
