And if you've read any of my previous dream posts, you'll probably know that when I say "crazy, disturbing" I mean "incredibly annoying and mundane."
I only somewhat remember two segments of this, which I'll describe here.
#1
The first involved me wandering around in some kind of shopping mall/college campus/some kind of open air place where there were lots of small buildings in close proximity. For some reason, I was under the impression I was here to register for classes, so I guess "college campus" would be the best description, though it didn't look like any college I'd ever been to. I went into this room that I knew to be the "registration office" and there was a small U shaped table with a woman sitting behind it and other people sitting around the walls of the building. I went to the table and told the woman I was there to register. She said all I needed to do was give her my registration papers. I told her I had already mailed them in. She said, fine, but I still needed to give them to her. This made sense to me for some reason, so I said okay, I'll go get them. Then I remembered that I had them in my backpack. But then, I couldn't find my backpack, so this dream segment ended with me wandering around outside in a state of agitation because I could remember where I'd left my backpack or where I'd last seen it.
#2
The second involved me waking up in a room that I thought of as my own, but which after waking up I realized was actually the room I used to stay in sometimes when staying at the home of my best friend from high school over the weekends, at least in part. Anyway, I was trying to get up and get ready for work (because this was around the point that I was starting to half wake up, but still not fully waking up). However, all the furniture had been shifted to the side by a foot or two, and none of my things were where they should have been. As above, this set me into a state of agitation, so I left the room briefly and looked into another room. There I saw someone that I apparently had no interest whatsoever in talking to (though I can't recall who it was now, if it was even anybody in particular to begin with), so I ducked back into the first room. As I turned around, the same person was there in the corner, so I yelled out "What the hell are you doing here?" Then they turned to face me and I realized it was not the same person after all. Instead, it turned out to be a teacher from an elementary school (though not one of the ones I actually had as a kid, because I didn't know who this person was at all). She said that she was conducting a field trip here. It didn't seem weird to me at all that they'd be doing a field trip to someone's house, so I went with it. That was around the time I woke up again, though.
There were a lot more segments than that, but I don't remember details about any of them. All I remember was that pretty much the whole night I kept waking up at anywhere from 5- to 20- to 60-minute intervals. When my radio came on, it didn't actually wake me up, but became partially incorporated into the dream, though I eventually just reached over and turned it off at some point. The weirdest part was that I kept partially waking up for real during this, which just made the whole thing even more surreal. Like, I'd be laying there in a bed in a room that was nothing like my actual room (or any room I'd ever been in), thinking everything was normal, then I'd blink and wake part way up and be in my actual room, momentarily thinking that was the weird dream bit, and then I'd almost immediately fall back asleep and start dreaming again. Yeah, it was really strange and annoying. And yet, it didn't leave me feeling physically bad, as dreams like this sometimes do, so I just said screw it and went on to work (albeit an hour and a quarter late).
