More evidence that Wikipedia just plain sucks sometimes.

"Old Man Murray Deleted From Wikipedia"

Look, I get why "notability" is so important to Wikipedia. It keeps all most some a few of the gigantic, nerdy pages about trivial crap that only the creators and maybe their closest friends would actually care about from cluttering up the site. But more often than not, the "notability" excuse is used to delete legitimate pages that simply shouldn't have been deleted. Wikipedia deletionists suck, especially when there seem to be ulterior motives behind this particular deletion.

(EDIT)

But I guess, by contrast to the above, pages like this are totally notable and worthy of keeping.

*eyeroll*

Wikipedia sucks. That's just all there is to it.

(EDIT 2)

And now, after a lengthy deletion review, the page has been reinstated.

Cooler heads have prevailed (for once), it seems.

I still hope this Ben Schumin* guy loses his admin status, though, due to the blatant conflict of interest.

* - Oh, by the way, the the Wikipedia page for Portal of Evil (a site created by the same guys that did Old Man Murray, though they finally shut it down completely not too long ago) was also deleted by this same guy.

Doesn't look like it's going to happen though. Look at how quickly the Wikiclique jumped to label that guy a sockpuppet and then almost immediately ban him (and who can say for certain that the wiki editors who supposedly "verified" that the guy is a sockpuppet aren't just blowing smoke out of their asses, given that there is no way for anyone on the outside to know for certain one way or the other), thus allowing them to completely ignore the still legitimate issue he brought up. See, it's crap like this, exactly like this, that is the reason that people who aren't Cheeto-encrusted shut-ins have very little interest in trying to edit Wikipedia on a sustained basis. The neckbeards always end up driving everyone else away, if they don't ban them outright that is. Looks like that HalfShadow guy is quite the douchebag too, along with SchuminWeb (and both apparently have history with Portal of Evil, and thus OMM by association, since both POE and OMM were created by the same people, as already noted).

(EDIT 3)

And, lastly, this. That is all.
