I had just walked into the living room of my parents' house in NC maybe 30 seconds or so before the second plane hit.
I was in my car on the way to school driving the hour or so it took to get there and listening to the radio when news came that the first tower fell.
I sat in class for 10 minutes or so with some other students before someone finally went to the teacher's office to see if he was there. He was just sitting there watching what was happening on TV and told them to tell us that class was canceled for the day. That was my only class that day, so I went back home.
