Today I received a form that may allow me to bill insurance for reimbursement of Doula fees. This is great news for doulas and those seeking our services alike. So if cost has been an issue for you in the past, then this is definitely worth looking into. All you need to do is call your care provider and ask if they cover Evaluation and Management Services or code 99499. If they say yes, find out what percentage they cover. Be aware most every Doula is out of network, so you may still have to pay a portion. Likely, however, it will be a substantial savings to you the client! What great news for everyone!
