How do midwifery students learn vital skills to their practice? Things like palpation and fetal heart tones are learned through hands on practice. Portland is lucky enough to have an amazing Midwifery school called Birthingway. If you are expecting and 20+ weeks, and willing to help out their students you should give Birthingway a call at 503.760.3131. Sessions are held every Tuesday starting September 29th and going through December 15th. Your time is valuable to both Birthingway students and yourself, and that is why they pay $20 a sessions to moms who come and help out.
