(This bit is actually from yesterday:) Today in Chrome Biscuit Lady updates, we’re getting remixes and mashups of the song. So far I’ve seen a pop and disco remix, as well as a mashup with Britney Spears’ masterpiece, “Toxic.”
(Ok now for updates from today:)
Today the Chrome Biscuit Lady is definitely getting more abstract. I’ve seen a few people use different filters that turn them into different off-putting entities depending on the vibe of the remix of the song they are using.
Chrome Biscuit Lady TikTok is also now lovingly being referred to by those on it as a cult, and today I saw a TikTok of a group of people huddled in a corner chanting the lyrics to the honey biscuit song. We’ve veered away from wondering what it was all about, we know and we no longer care, now it’s pure absurdity.
We’re also getting a lot of posts from people along the lines of “I’m on Biscuit Tok but none of my irl friends are” which tends to happen with trends.
There is another popular trend right now that I’m not on but my boyfriend is, and that’s the Miami Boys Choir. There’s a clip circulating of them from several years ago going super hard performing a song in Hebrew.
While I’m not getting that side of TikTok on my feed, my boyfriend shows me every single TikTok he likes, so I’m seeing the progression. It’s mostly people showing the boys a ton of love, which is delightful. And the boys themselves, now grown up, dueting the performance, clearly pleased with its resurrection.
Today I saw a TikTok asking people if they were on Chrome Biscuit Lady TikTok, Miami Boys Choir TikTok, or both.
Other less prominent trends:
-Still seeing the occasional “One Thing About Me” post, but not a lot of variations on the theme (sharing a rhythmic, or not so rhythmic, awkward long story over the beat to Super Freak), though today I did see Hank Green do it by reciting the lyrics to “All Star” by Smashmouth.
-Shmoyoho did a mashup of Bill Wither’s “Lovely Day” and Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar We’re Going Down” two days ago and a lot of people are now using the sound, though there doesn’t seem to be any particular theme to what sort of videos accompany it.
-“Unholy” by Sam Smith and Kim Petras is a trending sound that seems to be used predominately with thirst traps.
That’s all I have to say about TikTok today I guess. In unrelated news I want some frozen yogurt.
