Haha yeah, I'm on the east coast, so schools there are around the right distance from home for me. I never really want to be too far away just in case. I'm interested in social sciences, especially sociology, and also since I take Japanese and am learning Korean, I'm looking at schools that have a good Japanese language program. It's also a plus if they have a Korean program, and Stony Brook is perfect because it has both. Maryland has a really good Japanese program, though, and it's in-state for me so I think my first choice will be there. I was looking at some overseas schools, but their application process is SO different. I just don't have the attention span to apply to those lol. Plus I think it would be safer for me to just do an exchange program for a year or two instead of brave myself in a whole new country for four years. If you're looking at (slight) Ivy League schools for music and language, you should consider Cornell. Its language program is pretty good. It's also literally on top of Ithaca and Ithaca's music program is bangin'. Are there any specific regions you're considering applying within?
