Da DaVinci Code

J00 know what it's like to listen to 2 and a half hours of speech and no real rising action? Well... oddly it's not all that bad. It must be a Tom Hank thing ::shrugs::

While I blabbed on and on about how the Davinci spiel was more or less blasphemy, I had to go see it anyway. I was just curious dammit, and I never read the book... though I probably will now, just on principle. It seems like a good read ^^

As most of j00 all know, Dear Mr. Langdon is a symbologist, or in this case, super nerd that can find meaning in the most obscure things. His female partner is also a super nerd, who apparently doesn't much care for her job, as she's a cop who more or less took an extended vacation to go Treasure Hunting with our Dear Mr. Langdon to find the HOLY GRAIL which is apparently Mary Magdalene.... great.

I really don't think this movie needs much of an explanation as far as synopsis' are concerned. I enjoyed it for all it was worth, and it did raise an interesting question overall... which is basically the spiel with what the absolute truth is when it comes to Jesus and his divinity.

I think most people know I hate religion.... organized religion - as whole, but I believe in the Principles of God's Message. I don't really much care that God's a selfish little spud, since it's no real surprise that so are we

For parents. We... well, they... f*** it, it's easier for me to word this way. WE want our children to grow up to more or less be good honest people. Though some may take it a bit further and add little nuances, like not takin' any sh** from anybody, or goin' against the standards society have set, and being their own individual and whatnot. Yay for individualism, huh.

The point, though, is that we imprint our children with our beliefs and values, and as a result, our kids grow to become some big conglomeration of things we've taught them and the things they've learned on their own.

Which obviously varies from family to family. Especially when you have multiple children, 'cause we treat them all differently. The older kids will usually have more priveledges, yet the younger will probably be pampered more, if we feel we were too strict with the older, or vice versa. Doesn't really matter, experiences changes, ideas change, value's change, but the intent is usually the same. Raise them to be "good" kids.

Me and Dasher had a small discussion over parenting a while back, and I'll keep it short, 'cause it was mostly me raving about how Bill Cosby went apesh** a few years back on the how retarded people as parents have become.

There were... are obvious differences when it comes to culture, and skin color. I've always found whites to be more lax. Yes that's me stereotyping, since I'm obviously not white, and I can't imagine what it's like... well... I can a little.

I have a lot of white friends. 4 of my best friends are white, 2 I grew up with and knew their parents very well. The other's parent's I know very well too, and while their values and methods were different, they were still pretty lax to me. While my parents kept me on a short leash almost at all times. I really couldn't do anything without their permission, and even then there were guidelines and restrictions. Any deviation, and it was basically my ass, when I got home.

The bottom line there was, as I look at it now, I feel like parents... white parents take for granted that just because they live in nice neighborhoods, they're safe from bad things. That their kids are safe. They let their temper tantrums slide as if it's a phase. The so called "Goth" kids for example. I had goth friends, and they almost all admitted, they hated being at home. Let a n***a dress like that, or try to talk back to his/her parents and it was usually their ass right then and there too. (Ass whoopin's should've never been banned -_-)

Like Bill Cosby said. "Where were you when your child was 2. When he was 12, when he was 18, when he went to jail. How come you didn't know that he owned a pistol." I couldn't agree with him more. Just how the hell do you have a child under your roof, and you never know what they're doing. You don't know what they're into. You let them come and go as they please, and then act confused when the get into trouble, since you obviously "raised" them better than that. 'Cause you obviously didn't, if they're doing sh** like that.

Our ignorance, and unwillingness to accept responsibility for our own actions is destroying our children!

I could go on forever with that, but my point is... method's vary. But what does that have to do with God?

We are selfish. We have children and bring them up to be what we want them to be. God woke up in a world of absolute nothingness, and during his time of creation, he made us for himself, so he wouldn't have to spend his life in solitude. If ever there were a weakness in God, it would be that, even he isn't thrilled about the idea of living out eternity alone. He gave us life, rules, guidance. Though eating the tree also gave us free will. Independant thought. The ability to say, we can crawl around on this planet and if we so choose, we can also not include our creator in our daily lives.

My mom has been arguing with... well... more like her running her own crusade with these Jehova's witnesses for a while now. I woke up today listening her just raving and raving, and for a moment I seriously thought I was in church already. It was pretty freaky lol

But at the end, something just struck me. I've always felt that there's no point talking to people who are set in their ways. Mormon's, Jehova's Witnesses. In the end I don't really care. You believe in God. Your views might be skewed in comparison with my own, but you still seek his "divinity" nonetheless. However, my mom believes that people shouldn't be living a lie, regardless. For some reason, I was compelled to agree with her (I was still half asleep, but I take notes in my sleep, so take from that what you will lol) because, despite their intent, they're spreading this message to other people who believing a false truth. Though I don't agree that Christianity has it altogether either. There's just so much that's been twisted and convoluted, that it's hard to say with absolute authority that what I say, or what he or she says is the truth.

I remember the JW's talkin' about how God and Jesus were separate beings. My mom shot back, separate but one, just like her and my Dad. The JW's shot back with something like But you are still two different people. At first I didn't know what to really think about it, but as I thought about it, many creatures of great power, have been known to divide their power, yet still remains as one single being (made simple... the triforce... three pieces of immense power, that together created the world o_O) You can think of our own government in that regards. While it's generally one solid entity, it's also split into 3 branches. No one branch has dominance over the other, and if I remember right, they all got veto rights over the other too. So, while they're separate, they are also equally the same. Father, son, and the Holy Ghost.... 3 bodies, 1 entity.

Now, the DaVinci Code. I found it to be very skewed. I'm well aware that it was more or less fiction from the start, but that one question alone seemed to be enough to cause a massive uproar in the churches.

I, myself, think it's very unlikely that Jesus would've married. In my eyes, he would've bore some very powerful children. Children that would've most likely posed a huge threat to the pagan and jewish world at the time. Children who would've likely been outcast, or probably hunted and killed on the spot just for existing. But on the whole, I do believe there a great great many things that the "church" has held secret for many milennia, that I would personally like to see brought to light.

Absolute Truths... What happened to them?

movies, religion
