Spring semester ended...and four days later my online (all) summer (long) class started. I am taking Sociology for Health and Healthcare. It seems like it is going to be a really fun and interesting class, although it will be a lot of work too. The books that we have to read look like they will keep my attention, which is way more than I can say for the nursing text books. (I think its the text books connotation in general) But anyway the first half of the summer is basically reading, where as the second half is more research and paper/presentation oriented. Wonderful. I really think I will like this class, I just think it will be hard to get a good grade (an A) with the limited sociology background that I have, because we are supposed to read from a sociological perspective etc. I also have absolutely no idea what I want to do for my paper/presentation. Since it is an upper level course we have more flexibility and I can do it on just about anything health related that I want to. So if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
Orientation at the hospital is on Monday. I am excited. I am soo glad that I will be working outside of retail. Although I am still working at Marshalls too. At the hospital I will get great experience while at the same time making more money than I do in retail. I called the HR guy at Norwoord back, about working on the gero-psych floor but I haven't heard back from him. He likes to call back like 3 weeks later, which may not be such a bad thing. I will figure out my schedule at Milford and maybe I can do both per diem and completely leave Marshalls!!!
I got a sun burn the other day while helping my sister at a yard sale, its exciting that summer is ACTUALLY here! ...but I also got about 47.5 (I wish I was exaggerating) mosquito bites on my feet and lower legs and they are sooo damn itchy and won't go away!!!
