Fanfic: Death at Room 105
A.N: My original character Rin, is from a old fanfic I posted here in my journal " Spring Rain". There are other series of short stories with her and Yuuto. Mostly fluff and crack. But this one has a different tone to it.
Characters: Nakajima Yuuto and Yamada Ryosuke. OC : Kitano Rin and Saki.
It was raining that day when Yuuto recieves a chilling call from Kitano Saki. He had literally stopped in his tracks. His hand were cold and his expression frozen in time.
Yamada Ryosuke was walking beside him didn't like the way his friend looked. It was disturbing.
He pulls him aside, trying not to cause attention from the other members of hey! say! jump who were scattered around the studio.
"What is wrong Yuuto?"
He stares blankly at his phone.
"Its.." he takes a deep breath, "...Rin"
Never had he seen Yuuto so pale with worry, Yamada quickly discern it was a very serious matter.
"She's in the hospital..Saki neechan called.."he blinks back and without warning he started walking towards the exit.
"Oi Yuuto!" Kota Yabu calls from across the room, "where are you going?"
Yuuto doesn't face the older boy, "I need to be somewhere.."
Yamada panics for awhile, he knew better that this kind of personal life should not interfere with their work. So he grabs Yuuto and forces a smile on Yabu, "were heading to the rest room.." he lies for Yuuto who seem still very distracted. They entered the rest room, Yamada making sure it was empty. He then faces the tall slender boy squarely, "what's wrong? Is Rin hurt badly?"
Yuuto shakes his head and clutches the hem of his coat, "I have no idea...but for neechan to call, it must be.."
Yamada could now see him shaking. "I must see her..I must.." he moves towards the door when once again Yamada stops him.
"Don't be stupid Yuuto. I know you care for Rin and she is my friend too but this is what you bargain for. You know who you are and what you do. I'm so sorry but you can't leave, that isn't reason enough for you to do so.." he tells hims softly.
Yuuto shakes his head again, " you don't understand..she might be very sick or god knows what!" he pulls away.
"YOUR A MEMBER OF HEY! SAY! JUMP!" Yamada exclaims angrily, "the consequence of your action will affect us all!"
Yuuto stops and glares at him, his eyes filled with bitterness.
"That's why you lost her" he said sharply, "because you failed to value what you had. I had already sacrificed alot, ever since the new year i haven't seen her. We both accepted that, we knew the consequences. But this is too much. This is serious!"
Yamada took in his painful words but still he refuse to give in, for the sake of his friend he did the unthinkable.
"I'm sorry Yuuto" he punch him in the stomach and Yuuto fell forward unconscious.
xx-xxAnother lie came, explaining why Yuuto was presently in the studio's infirmary.
He passed out in the rest room, Yamada told the staff and the others putting into use his acting skills.
The practice went on without Yuuto and when it was time to go home, Yamada stayed behind waiting for his friend to wake up.
When he noticed Yuuto's eyes fluttering open, he readied himself. His heart was pounding, he kept asking himself for the last past hour if he had done the right thing.
Yuuto then sat up and looks at him with a dazed expression. Then it turned into brief anger then to panic again.
"Rin.." he stood up and rushes to find his things.
"Tokyo University Hospital, room 105" Yamada replies as Yuuto struggles to find his mobile phone.
"Who did you know?" Yuuto asks then he catches Yamada's arm, "did you talk to Saki neechan? Is Rin all right? Tell me!"
Yamada shakes his head, "I talked to her for a few seconds, it was all I heard since the signal was so static due to the rain..."
Yuuto grits his teeth, "I have to go.." he rushes out.
"I'm coming with you" Yamada tells him. Yuuto does not say a word when they catch a cab and head towards the hospital.
It was still raining very hard when they reached the hospital.
The big clock's hands where pointing to 9PM in the evening.
Yuuto did not speak to him, he was walking so briskly Yamada was trying hard to keep up.
They reached room 105, outside a man in a dark suit was standing his head was down expression sullen.
Yamada heard Yuuto take a deep sharp breath.
Kitano Rin is a daughter of a politician, so the family had bodyguards.
Trying not to falter, Yuuto approached the door. The man looks at him, Yuuto stops abruptedly his heart growing still.
The man shakes his head without a word. Yamada could see his eyes red from crying.
"No..can't be.." Yuuto trembles and opens the door.
There was petite nurse arranging the room, trying to clean what was left.
"Is she gone.." he asks in despair.
"I'm so sorry for your loss.." she tells him softly.
Yuuto kneels into the floor and arms his arms around himself. "No..NOOOO! Noo..Nooo! Damn it nooo!" he cries.
Yamada bites his trembling lip, unable to do anything.
It was his fault, had he only agreed to let Yuuto go.
"Yuuto.." he tries to comfort him, tears were forming in his own eyes.
"Rin...oh dear heaven..WHY?!" Yuuto shut his eyes, crying in denial, in utter despair.
"I'm so sorry..Yuuto.." he was now crying, he could feel Yuuto''s own pain and the loss of Rin who had been a good friend to him.
Yuuto continued to sob, spasm rocking his body.
"Ryosuke..?" a soft familiar voice calls him from behind. He turns and sees Saki, Rin's older sister standing there her face ashen white.
"Nee-chan.." he whispers softly. She looks at him with concern and then to Yuuto who had quieted down a bit. She looks down at the crying Yuuto and puts a cool hand into his cheek, "don't cry Yuuto..she's out of the ICU"
"HUH?"
She didn't pay any heed to their reactions and instead asked them what they were doing in that empty room.
"Isn't Rin---" Yamada was too dumbfounded to ask.
"Room 115" Saki replied.
As if his soul went back to him, Yuuto stands up and rushed out without a word.
Saki stares at Yamada's surprised tear stricken face. "Wrong room, you thought she died..?" asked flatly.
"My fault.." he grumbles then lets out a sigh of relief, "Yuuto would have definetely kill me if it did happen to Rin.."
Saki walks out with him into the corridor and in front of room 115, where the door was slightly open. They could see Yuuto comically hugging Rin who was lying weakly in the bed.
They began arguing in a friendly way. Making Yamada smile weakly.
"Yellow fever and it complicated with her asthma" Saki explained to Yamada quietly watching in amusement Rin trying to calm Yuuto. "But she's a fighter.. and that boy.."
"He loves her... and I stopped him from seeing her.." Yamada said feeling quite miserable.
Saki glances at him, "you have your reasons.. don't you Ryosuke?"
He looks at the girl who is three years his senior and nods quietly.
She pats his shoulder lightly and urges him to follow her inside to greet Rin.
xx-xx"Im sorry about earlier" Yamada apologizes as they walked out of the hospital an hour later.
"If something indeed happen, I don't know how to forgive you" Yuuto replied as they stood by the hospital entrance with the rain was pouring in front of them.
Yamada lowers his gaze. "You were right about something though.." then he lifts his gaze into the dim spring night bathed with rain.
"I lost her because I didn't value what we had.."
Yuuto pressed his lips together and didn't say a word at all.

"Hello..?"
"Who is this?"
"Its me"
"Who?"
"Ryosuke"
"Oh"
"Mariya, I hope you are doing well right now"
A pause.
"Yes, I hope you are too" her voice sounds grateful.
He smiles, the rain has ceased and he snuggles into the warmth of his bed.
"Yes. I'm glad we both are"
