A chain of stories about their distance
Although this animated movie was rather slow paced, there's something so beautiful in the way it was portrayed.
It composes of three episodes, both relating to the distance of Takaki and Akari who were childhood friends and then were separated because they had to change schools. They continued to write to each other and soon their friendship developed to young love despite their distance. But in the end, they still continued to live separate lives each finding their own happiness yet never forgetting the wonderful feeling of young love.
The movie was simply amazing, aside from the depth of the story the artwork was stunning and so vivid that it looked almost surreal. I just came to realize that sometimes if we wait too long we let time consume our lives and before we know it, its too late. We need to give ourselves a little effort in order we do not regret things. Yet life is full of regrets. What I truly like about the anime is that the ending despite it was rather sad, it gave off a feeling of reservation and it makes me think I guess it was right for it to end that way. Not everything ends up happy, although happiness is a broad thought their is always one point in our lives where in things do not go our way. Despite that, what truly matters is the memories you created. Memories that would live on, despite the distance.
