The weekend started on Friday when my wonderful hubby bought me a GREAT pair of Gingher scissors for the holidays. They cut through material like butter! (I tried them out on some fleece tonight.)
Saturday's Kris Kinder Market was nice. Weather was cold, but since I was wearing wool, I didn't notice.
My husband surprised me with two matching cups from
Ash & Griffin Pottery. They will look fabulous with our feast gear.
I bought some tiny white and gold trim from
Calontir Trim for my camica.
My steal of the day was a lovely cream and gold trimmed partlet with a white lace collar. All I need to do is add ties.
Retinue for TRH went well. I went to a few meetings with HRH Cadfael, but time was equally attended with Herself by me, Meadhbh and Onora. I have a TON of notes to transpose to HRH on Monday.
And I had two very unexpected surprises:
1) Countess Bronwen gave me a gorgeous blue topaz ring for the holidays.
2) I was given an AoA level arts award for my costuming, the Golden Calon Swan by TRM Tristram and Caillin.
Woot! I feel like I made out like a bandit. :)
We don't have another event until 12th Night, so I have time to work on a cotehardie for HRH Cadfael and hopefully finish my Italian or lavendar t-front German for 12th Night. If worse comes to worse, I can wear my linen t-front German or my grey Cranach German, neither of which I have worn recently.
The theme of 12th Night is 11-12th Century pilgramages, but I am not too hip on making clothes *just* for a themed event, that I might never wear again.
What an interesting weekend.
