No, I'm fairly sure that you're the only idiot who would go and sit on a roof at this time of the night, Kamijou-san.

[ The voice isn't coming from the journal though, but rather from a little bit below and next to him - Ange is standing on the road next to the house, looking up to where he is sitting. And despite calling him an idiot in her usual deadpan voice, she is up and about now as well. She's never been one to sleep much or at regular times, so instead she goes out to at least be able to walk and move, and happened to run into him like this. ]

[Touma puts his journal aside for a moment and looks down to spot Ange. He knows that she doesn't sound tired at all since that's her usual tone... He wonders how much that says if he actually know her that well simply by voice already. Anyway, he'll raise sarcasm with sarcasm.]

--Eh? Ange-san? I could say the same for you, you know. Shouldn't good little girls like you be going to bed at this hour?

I couldn't sleep because of the monster under my bed.

[ She can take it, bro, so she just continues on the sarcasm joke. Then she eyes a rain pipe on the side of the house, and with a few swift motions she's already climbed up to the roof of the house. She's gotten fairly good at this kind of thing by now, really, as it mostly seems effortless. ]

So I guess I'll just be a delinquent for tonight. [ Yes, just talking on like she didn't just climb up just now.. ]

[Give Touma a moment as he gawks at that... He should be used to this by now, but he still ends up reacting.]

W-whoa! Oi, oi! Don't tell that you've been raised by a family of ninjas too! It took me a lot of effort to climb up here, yet you just made it look like nothing!

It's not like it's terribly difficult.. Although I'd have to agree going down is easier than climbing up. [ Since you just need to jump for that.. She's as casual and deadpan about the whole thing as ever though, in contrast to his reaction. ]

I can assure you nobody in my family was a ninja though.

... Is there anything in this world that can faze you? We could go on a roller coaster and you would act like it's the most boring thing in the world. [Which brings up a thought if she has ever gone to an amusement park. If not, then he'll add it to a place to take her in the future!]

To be honest, I'm not sure how that would feel. Sure, it would be cool that you would get to learn special techniques and how to be "one with the shadows" and all of that... But think about the hellish training that you would have to do as a child. At least, that's how things go in manga.

Well, it's not like rollercoasters are all that scary or interesting, right?

[ Try jumping from a skyscraper.. and she's actually been hanging around a little at Luceti Land here a while ago but didn't go on any rides since she's a party pooper.. ]

But if we're going to do it the manga way, then you would have to constantly make ridiculously long speeches about ideals as well, and in that case you would sort of lose the sneaky aspect of being a ninja.

Have you completely missed the point of getting on rollercoaster? It's all about having a thrill....! The moment whenever you climb up to a peak and then descend downward at a high speed! That's the moment that makes the heat of the ride!

[Well, he has jumped out from a supersonic jet and landed in a river before... Still a lot more scarier than a rollercoaster, but still!]

Oi... I can understand your example, but I can't help but feel somewhat offended from how you say that. It's like you're taking a personal jab at me.

Sorry, but I still don't see what's so thrilling about just descending at a high speed. [ She pauses for a moment, thinking about it.. but then she shrugs a little. ] Maybe I'm just a type for rollercoasters or amusement parks, I suppose.

[ There's a sound very, very close to being amused, even if it's hard to catch. ] And why would that be a personal jab at you, Kamijou-san?

Everyone has to voice their opinion on an issue sometimes, so it can't be helped if someone has to get really preachy when it comes to ideals. Sure, it can be corny and boring, but someone has to speak up! How else can you get through to a person if you don't talk to them?

... [Clears his throat.] I-I'm just speaking for the sake of the protagonists. It's not like I really took that personally.

That's awfully specific denial.

[ no, okay, she won't troll him further over it, even if it amuses her a little.. ]

I was just saying that something like that doesn't work for any ninja, since they have to be sneaky and delivering speeches isn't exactly part of that. It's why manga are so unrealistic.

That's true. You don't see one person defeating ten guys in an entire gang in real life. It would be different it things were one-on-one maybe, but one-on-ten never turns out well. [A beat.] Still, that doesn't mean that it isn't fun to read.

I'm not so sure. I never particularly cared for manga. [ this probably doesn't come as a surprise. ] You definitely seem like the kind of person who would enjoy such a thing though, Kamijou-san. Maybe that's why you took it as so much of a personal jab.

We'll simply have to change that over time-- [Then he hears that.] Gyaaa! Hold on a minute... Am I really that one-dimensional and predictable?!

Let's see, how should I say it.. [ She pretends to think for a moment. Sorry, Touma, she can be sort of a troll when she actually cares for people.. ] I would say you just offer people the comfort of the predictable.

Besides, what do you mean with 'change that over time'? You're starting to make it sound like some sort of project.

Haaaah? What's with this mocking tone I'm hearing? Ange-san... Don't tell me that you're the type that take pleasure in teasing others. [And he'll just be joking around here--] Haaah... Kamijou-san is having a relaxing moment under the stars with a cute girl and the moment doesn't feel very romantic at all.

That's because it is! My "Opening Up Ushiromiya Ange Raising Project"! The name still needs work, but that's the jist.
