[After a little while he comes into the kitchen wrapped in a yukata, his hair still wet and dangling.]
[He... was unfortunately rather amused by this. A year ago? He would have been terribly embarrassed. Now? Not quite so much... Being walked in on in the shower by your wife wasn't really an embarrassing thing.]
[He watched her crawling around on the floor for several seconds, trying to figure out what in the hell she was doing before it dawned on him.]
[He padded over to one counter, retrieving his ring, now fitted with a chain, out of a small container (to keep the cat from getting it) and padded toward her.]
Kaoru-dono. [He was cool as a cucumber, and let the ring dangle from the chain as he held it out to her with a small smile.]

[She was still as red as one could possibly become as she hunted for the little band that proved that this was not a dream.
All she seemed to find was dust bunnies and the cat's paws.
Then Kenshin entered and spoke her name. Great. The last person she wanted to see right now. Even if he was wearing clothing all she saw was him standing naked in the shower. The effect only made her feel light headed.
Then her shining piece of proof came dangling into view. It was really there. It was really, really there. Kenshin wasn't married. Well, he was, but not to someone else. He'd asked her to marry him ...... and she'd .... oh god
[He squatted down in front of her, knees together, arm resting across them to ensure his yukata flaps stayed closed. He reached out with his other hand to move a strand of hair back behind her ear, giving her a warm and gentle smile--much more open than any she would have seen from him up until now.]
[The smile caused a soft blush to tint her cheeks before her hand opened to reveal the ring again. This part definitely felt like a dream, but now she knew that it was real.
She was sure that she was going to have to remind herself of this for quite some time to come.
Her fingers were nervously fiddling with the ring, sticking her finger in and out. She had read in a book that rings were worn in other countries to symbolize marriage. She had also read that the man always put the ring on the girl's finger.]
[He looked fairly well clueless for just a moment.]
[Then remembered the slight argument over sleeping arrangements before... And smiled]
Saa, we already covered this. He barely ever sleeps lying down as it is. You should keep it. This unworthy one can rearrange the rooms and put a second futon elsewhere. Besides, [Reaches out and touches one of her hands lightly] your clothing is already in that room.

This unworthy one found it earlier this morning and went out to get a chain for you. And was ambushed by that damn Butterfly nut...

[He tried to let her have her moments of weirdness, after all.]
[He couldn't help the tiny smirk that kept wanting to pull at his lips.]
Are you... alright?

did .... did you ask me to marry you?
[She had to know if it really did happen.]

Aa... He...
...
You wanted to marry him once, he rather hoped... that you would want to do so again...
[Awkwardly scratches the back of his head.]

He was really asking her to marry him. It wasn't a dream!]
Of. Of course I do.
[She was pretty sure she was smiling like an idiot right now.]

Aren't you going to put it on me?
[She almost sounded like she was teasing.]

[He did, however, reach out again, taking the ring, unclasping the chain, and reaching around her to fasten it around her neck.]
But he will do so when he finds a new one...

This means you're taking the bed now.

It's your futon. I'm not taking it!

[He wanted the later at the moment.]
[He gave a wide "innocent" grin.]
Technically it was our futon, so that is a moot point.

Then she remembered him naked and her eyes instantly went to his crotch.]
