Well, the time of year I've been waiting for is here, and I'm so frustrated! I take this as a good sign, though. My birthday's on Saturday, you see. Time for the big solar return! Generally this causes a whole lot of frustration as the sun is returning to the exact postion (more or less) as it was on the day you were born. Due to earth trying to do a headstand, it's usually a degree or too off, and gets farther off the older you get. but the solar return is still usually around the same time.

Anyway, what this means astrologically s a big clash. See, there's a reaon most people only know their sun signs and have no idea what sign their Pluto is in (I'm gonna tell you right now it's either going to be in Scorpio or Libra if you're reading this). The sun is not only the easiest/most interesting (Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus are the absolute easiest to track because they move soooo slowly) to track because it's in each sign a month at a time, but it represents your ego, the very core of who you are.

So you have a total of two suns in your chart. Your first sun is called your natal sun. It's actually not a sun, but rather it refers to where the sun was, which sign and house it was in, when you were born. The second is your transitting sun. this is where the sun is right now in relation to your chart. when the transitting sun lines up at certain angles with your natal sun, it laghts up and creates a reaction. Right now my natal and transitting sun are getting quite close to each other. Soon they will be zero degrees away from each other. This is one of those angles. It's called a conjunction.

The conjunction is said to be neither good nor bad. Just very, very intense. When it gets close to your birthday, you start getting tired and worn out from everything that's been going on all year. then the transitting sun starts getting close to your natal sun. It creeps up slowly, approaching transit. The closer it gets, the more intense things get. Things start getting heated up and you might start having struggles with yourself, or with outside authorities. You might start meeting tons of new people and appearances might start getting very important to you. This is all natural, for they are all things that the sun rules over. Finally, the transit hits-- zero degrees. Complete conjunction. all of a suuden everything reaches its peak and you're really stressed out. This is why most people have horrible birthdays.

However, there is something good that comes from all this. I'ts a birthday gift from the sun... while it's in conjuntion with your natal sun, you get recharged. all of a sudden, as the sun draws away from transit everything is good again. Better, in fact, than it has been in quite a while! You're recharged, you've learned some new things about yourself, done some growing, met new friends. Everything is great.

And if you don't believe me, just think back on some of your past birthdays. I know that moonsail can testify to things going horribly on his birthday and then wonderfully right after. :)

At least the solar return doesn't happen as often as the lunar return!
