Endwalkers Eve
Well I typed up a long entry for the first time in 7 years and LJ ate it when I clicked post. Good to know some things never change!
It's the eve of the launch of Endwalker, the final part of the first major story arc Hydaelyn and Zodiark on Final Fantasy XIV. My wife convinced me to start playing ten months ago despite my swearing I didn't want to get hooked on another MMO after WoW (which I quit, well a long time ago now). Anyway, I am hooked. The writing has me sympathizing with characters left and right and invested in the history and future of the world in the game. Incredibly well done for a game that was so panned on original launch that the developers turned it off for a year and fired the original development team to then rebuild it from the ground up.
I'm surrounded by excited people, at least virtually. Since I now work nights I will be awake when it comes online tomorrow morning. I expect it will be a bumpy ride because of its incredible popularity and unexpected server difficulties related to major patch launches.
Anyway if anyone is playing I am on the server Zalera on the Crystal server group.
