Premiere week has been a little underwhelming for me. Wasn't too fond of Chuck, and though I keep hearing about this Pushing Dasies show I have no idea when it's on or which channel so whatever. Looks a little annoying, too, what with the lovers who can't touch, etc. Blah. Bionic Woman... sigh. Just bad.
But...
Life, people! Life!

Okay, first I'm gonna admit that I never use this journal for anything other than archiving my fics in case my computer blows up and the Internet blows up and LJ is the only site that survives, held up by Emo Power(TM). So basically, I don't really check my friends page or anything, BUT! I get ONTD through the RSS feed every day and was looking through it this morning when I saw the Violet/Jennifer Garner post from yesterday and was all like yay, because I love Jennifer Garner and think that her baby is the cutest ever.
Anyway, I was skimming through the comments and saw you say "Violet > Suri" and was like !!! because I totally agree and was excited to see you alive.
So yeah, I clicked on your journal and ended up reading this post because I watch this show! I'm only on episode 4 (but I assume you haven't had much time to watch TV) and I hope to be caught up by the end of the weekend. I gotta say, this is a really, really good show, pretty much for the reasons you outlined. Just wanted to comment on:
Characters like Dani tend to be too much, too emo (I'm looking at you, Samantha Spade), but Sarah Shahi is playing Dani with a lot of dignity, and that's important.
Agree! In the pilot, when she leaves the random man she's just slept with, I had to do a double take, because I totally didn't see that coming, from the cool, collected way she was acting before. So she's not dealing with her issues all that well and her behavior's a little self-destructive, but it's kept hidden from everyone and I really like that it's not forced and doesn't make her workmates wary around her because they think she'll have a mental breakdown any moment or something. I like this character. She's got that natural beauty thing going on too, which is always a plus.
But the writer's strike. :( Hopefully, it'll get resolved soon, because I'd like to see a full first season of this show. And it's a really bad time for our EC, too!
Anyway, I hope life's treating you okay. Take care of yourself.

I haven't stopped by CSI Files. I need to! I'm just so lost now, I don't know what's going on anymore. It was good to hear from you, though. I hope everything's okay.

I watched the rest of the episodes so I'm all caught up! I'm really excited for next week, more than I am for Miami, for sure.
