Half an hour left of work...and I'm going to attempt to kill most of that here.
I'm going to be working a lot this week, which means a massive paycheck next week. One of the supervisors is going on vacation tomorrow, so I have to pick up some of the slack, and will work about 2 extra hours each day, starting tomorrow.

Saturday night...
So we rolled up to play with Mint 6 Ten at seven. Since we were squeezing our time in order to get out to Never On Sunday's on time, we just loaded right in, and Mint 6 Ten let us borrow their equipment, so we could save time on loading. It wasn't the smoothest set we've ever run, but considering we were playing on foreign equipment in a rushed situation with a terrible PA, it wasn't too terrible. The sound was, however. The vocals were way distorted, and still not loud enough to be heard well. On stage it was hard to hear all the instruments, and I definitely could barely hear what I was doing.
It was a fun time though. There was a good turnout, and it's nice to see another potential way to throw all ages shows. There aren't enough hall shows in Cincinnati, everything is at bars/venues, where the bands don't control the show and almost always under-age kids aren't allowed in.
So after we played we packed up the shit, some kids bought some stuff (which was awesome, because we didn't even have time to set up a merch table to hawk our stuff), and then we rolled out and down the street to Never On's
We got to Never On Sunday's at 8, even though we were technically supposed to load in at 7:30. Well, we got there and the place looked completely dead. We walk in and it is empty except for the bartender and a guy sitting at the bar, who turned out to be the sound guy. We told him who we were, and he informed us that End It All, the other local band and biggest draw on the bill, had dropped off earlier that day. Their guitar player had gotten arrested and was in jail. That left us and Doom Syndicate, the band from West Virginia. That was obviously bad news. The sound guy said we would just wait it out and see if people showed up.
Luckily, we had just played a good show and already thought the NOS show was sketchy, so it all made for a good laugh, rather than frustration and anger.
We decided to not even bother loading in until we knew what was going on, so I headed back to the Community Center show with Wes, while the rest of the guys chilled at the bar.
I got back to the other show and found out some kids had managed to put someone's head through a roof panel, completely busting it. Josh was pretty pissed about it, which is understandable, since they took it upon themselves to rent this place out for a show, and then kids are fucking stuff up. Luckily they were able to fix it after the show.
I caught the very end of Sawbrooke when I got back. Then A Voice Like Rhetoric, from PA, played, and blew a lot of people away. Excellent band. Go check 'em out on Myspace.
At nine Connor called me and said that the band from West Virginia hadn't even shown up yet at NOS. He said they would hang there for about 10 more minutes and then leave. So...the show didn't happen. It was pretty lame, but I knew I had a weird feeling about that show all week.
Then the boys in Mint 6 Ten rocked the house. They got a shitload of Loveland high school kids to come out to the show. Unfortunately a lot of them filed out right afterwards and missed theredlightpledge.
Then Ashley, Jenny, Jessie, and Ian decided to roll out and get something to eat, so Wes and I went along. We ended up at Bdub's, where I started feeling sick after eating half of my cheese quesadillas. Too much grease too late at night, I think.
Then Wes and I came home, and during the drive I put together the greatest Ipod mix ever. When else do you get to listen to Aqua, Ace of Base, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, Coolio, and N'Sync in one sitting? Props to Wes and his Ipod that has every type of music imaginable, and especially for those songs that we all love to hate, yet know every word to. We ended the night rolling into Oxford to some "Livin' La Vida Loca."

I tried to sleep in yesterday, but that plan failed miserably. I woke up at 9:30 and couldn't fall back asleep. I ended up sitting around doing nothing in particular, when I should have been sleeping. Then there was a glorious Phan Shin lunch. I used my afternoon to go pick up the "new" (OK, it was new two months ago...) Bloc Party album. I realize I am two months behind the times, but...GO PICK UP THE BLOC PARTY ALBUM NOW! It's incredible. I had heard all the hype about the band, but didn't pay any attention to it and didn't think I'd be into it, but then I stumbled across a couple of songs and that was enough to convince me I needed the album. There isn't one bad song on it. If you are into dancy indie stuff a la The Killers, Interpol, or Franz Ferdinand, and even if you're not, check out this band. They are so much better than those aformentioned bands and much more interesting and emotional. Seriously, even if you don't like those bands, you should still give them a listen...

Last night I went up to Stadium to see Sofa Punch played. Damn, there were a lot of people there to see them. As usual, I had no takers to go to the show with me, but Ashley was there, unexpectedly. Jeff and Ben showed up later on as well, and I bumped into a few of the Stadium regulars that I know from open mic. We reminisced a little about me and my explosion of anger the last time I played. Jordan runs open mic now, and he said that he was glad I said what I said, and he doesn't let all that bullshit happen like it used to.
Sofa Punch is going to be playing in Oxford at Ramen Romp on Friday, and everyone should be there! It's going to be a good time...and I'm going to be singing a song with them, so come out! I'll post all the details later this week.

Definitely didn't get enough sleep last night. Alright, I'm sitting here after I should have already gone home, just because I'm typing. That's it...I'm going home.
