COUNTDOWN TO GIO!!
WOOHOO!! I can't believe the day has finally arrived! The day all us Getty fans have been waiting and praying for since that ridiculous cliffhanger from last season.
And what day is that, you ask? The day that GIOVANNI ROSSI RETURNS TO UGLY BETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAY!!! w00t w00t!!!!!!!

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am!!! I know I faux swoon over various actors here a lot but Gio (aka Freddy Rodriguez) is the adorable little Italian smartass that really has my heart. I've been obsessed with Gio (and I do mean O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D LOL) since he first appeared as The Sandwich Guy in Season 2, Episode 3. I, like thousands of other Getty fans across the globe, fell in love with him when Betty was too stupid to notice how delectable he is.
Heck, she still IS too stupid! WTF?!?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!?! I still can't believe the writers did that to us after TKAA! (The Kids Are Alright Season 2, Episode 17). That dance Getty shared to "True" by Spandau Ballet was simply magical. Then Betty asks Gio to go out as a couple sometime and when he says no she says, "But I thought you wanted to be my Rebound Guy?" And Gio says he wants to be THE Guy! COME ON!!! What girl wouldn't fall in love with him after that?!?!?! Yeah, I'm not buying it, ABC. To quote my all time favorite playwright William Shakespeare, "Methinks the lady dost protest too much."
Betty has spent too much time and energy fighting the inevitable when it comes to Gio. I think it's because she realizes being with him will require her to grow up a bit. Gio doesn't accept the flimsy excuses she uses for not actively pursuing her dreams more. He supports her dreams and pushes her to be her best and that is something that truly terrifies some people at Betty's age.
To top it off, Betty has had all her relationships come pretty easily so far: Walter, Henry, Gio, now Jesse. Guys are dropping for her like flies! (I mean really! If she's so "ugly" then why are all these guys after her all the time? Homechica is getting some mad play!!) It's time Gio laid the smackdown and made her realize his worth. Betty needs to grow up and see that life is not a perfect little rainbow sailing overtop a gigantic pink castle with fluffy cotton candy clouds in the sky and unicorns frolicking amongst sunbeams. Once she does, she's going to feel like such a fool for taking a smart, funny, romantic, stand-up kinda guy like Gio for granted.
I think this season the new love interest (*sneer* Jesse *hiSs*) is gonna break Betty's heart and make her realize what an incredible guy Gio is. At least, I hope so. I hope they don't destroy Gio's character like they did with Henry.
