For the most part, I take all of my notes in German. However, sometimes I simply can't keep up writing in German and end up with gems like this one, from my Mädchenliteratur Vorlesung: die Frau soll nicht (on par with men in terms of education) sein.
My English is more eloquent and educated, but German gets the job done. Good thing, too, because I have 15 pages worth of paper to write in the next couple of weeks. Woo!
