I've been here, what, a month and a half? In cooking for myself for that long, I have gotten fairly confident and competent at the use of the gas stove. Having to physically light the stove was definitely something I had to get used to - that, and the prevailing smell of gas fumes - but I figured it out. Today, I am attempting to make some mini-pizza like things. This involves the use of the oven. This is so many times scarier than the stove. First, you have to reach in there with the sparker thing to light it. Second, it makes this crazy bumping noise once it works. Third, it still sounds like gas is pouring out and going to light up the house, and I'm in my room. But, yeah. Hopefully this works. I can't wait to have a good old, wasteful American electric kitchen again.
