Before Thanksgiving, I was sent an email saying my Guildwars password had been changed. I checked both Guildwars and NCsoft and could not log in to either. So I put in a support ticket. I had to go through a lot of trouble verifying that I was the actual owner of the account and then Thanksgiving happened so I didnt even hear from support of about a week. They finally got back to me and reset the password, when I tried to log in, I found my account was banned for illegal activity. I started fearing the worst.

So I mailed support again to get my account unbanned. Why didnt they unban it earlier :P I got back the notice that I was unblocked and logged in with crossed fingers and held breath.

It was terrible. All my max level characters were missing all or most of their armor. Ian tried to comfort me saying "maybe the armor isnt loading because you hadnt logged in since they updated the graphics" but I knew better. I logged in to my beloved Carleco, and saw the full extent of the damage.

Armor gone, bank empty, all the plat money gone, all my dedicated pets gone, all my mats gone, spare armor gone, commendation currency gone, dyes gone, everything gone. Nothing left.

With one last hope, I emailed support again, asking them to revert my account. I had read that World of Warcraft is able to revert accounts when things like this happened, so I assumed Guildwars could to.

I got back a short reply saying basically "there is nothing we can do".

um... what? Thats it? My entire Guildwars career is gone and they can do nothing? The damage was so devastating that the only way I can recover is either making Ian farm me money on his characters or buying plat from the very types of people who stole my account in the first place.

what kind of business model is that? That there is no help for customers who's virtual lives have basically been destroyed?

I feel like someone has died.
