wens once wrote -but I couldn't find said entry- a little rant about people who label themselves as "bad cooks"; cooking is nothing surnatural if you only give it a minimum of practise.

Back then, I strongly disagreed but kept my mouth shut. Good cooking, I thought, was a gift that faeries forgot to fling at my crib. I was only able to mimic some recipes ad nauseam (even though some of them were actually good, like our beloved roasted camembert cheese) while cursing this "magic spark" that everyone else seemed to have. And I was, as often when one's satisfied with its mediocrity, horribly wrong.

To make a long story short, and motivated by some desire to feed Zedes correctly, I am now in a state where my kitchen doesn't feel like some vision of hell and my hood bends under various spice jars. I still don't know how to use half of them, but that's only because I haven't tried.

And to officialize this union, meet...

€86 on Ebay, baptized with cress soup last weekend and tonight with hachis parmentier. Alleluia, and to you wens : chapeau bas, Mademoiselle :D
