On the topic of Ankh's arm...

So my friends and I are about to make some OOO-cosplay (Namely Ankh, Kazari, Gotou and Eiji (though our Eiji hasn't seen OOO yet and went all "Huh? Kikumaru Eiji?" :P)) and we were thinking...

Anyone who got any tips on how to make Ankh's arm? We want it to look as good as possible (of course). So while figuring out what materials to use, I thought ( Read more... )

Thanks for the tips. :) I have no idea where to get pva in my area, to be honest. I mean, if I go into town, living in the middle of nowhere = you have to travel far to get to anything at all. OTL Haven't heard of jumping clay before. I've worked in normal cheramics clay and silk clay before though, but those wouldn't be any good at all. While silk clay can be sort of soft, it's pretty frail and gets a bit sticky when it gets wet.

If you can't find a glove that's the right material, you could always try making one yourself. There's pretty simple tutorials on how to make gloves around, like this http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/felted-wool-sweater-glove
It's not a perfect pattern, as it's for felted wool, but just make it a bit tighter and longer and it'll be great. I've made gloves out of this pattern before (in leather), and it went well, though I had to alter the pattern further because of my long fingers.

As for the wig..for the short parts to look good, you'd need a really short wig, cutting a litle longer wig into that length would turn out horrible. So I guess you could try buying one that's about the length on his curls, and one that's really short, cut them apart and sew them together. My Ankh will use her own hair for that. (And here I'm thinking of getting Kazari's hair.. will not cut it off, will not cut it off...dye, it gladly, though.)
You could always ask a professional wig store that actually make wigs to make you one, but I'm sure that'd end up as taking a LOT of money. Probably.

thanks for the glove link.

Jumping clays are just like normal clays, just that when it dries it becomes sort of rubbery. Forgot another name for it... but at least end result won't be so fragile.
