http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamen_Rider_Kiva_(character)http://kamenrider.wikia.com/wiki/Kamen_Rider_Kiva_(Rider)http://orderofzeronos.wikidot.com/kurenai-wataru [ Personality ] : At first glance, Wataru is a polite, hesitant, terminally quiet young man with social phobia, who never leaves the house if he can help it, and prefers to stay locked inside and make violins. ...while none of this is strictly untrue, he has lived as a shut-in for his whole life, so mostly he’s just shy. Up until recently he never went outside without a hat, safety glasses, a paper mask and a poncho (and when he did go outside, it was mostly to gather random and bizarre ingredients from people’s garbage to try and make violin varnish) because he thought he was allergic to... everything, pretty much. He’s a little better now--he’s gone out more and made a few new friends and joined a rock band, but he still just likes being inside and making violins best. He’s naive and inexperienced and more than a little malleable, but he’s learning how to stand up for himself, slowly, and move more outside of his comfort zone.
He also happens to occasionally dress up in a rubber suit and punch Fangires, which are like vampires, but also in rubber suits. All in a day’s work for a Kamen Rider! But it’s this particular part of his job that shows where his real strength lies--if he believes someone is in danger, he’ll go to them to try and fix it, regardless of how he feels about leaving the house. He’s the sort of person who believes in the fundamental good of people, so when he sees someone in danger, it’s easy for him to know what to do--he helps them. This is good! However, he tends to have a bit more trouble with situations that are more morally ambiguous, violent or otherwise. He hasn’t had enough real experience with people to understand very well why they hurt each other sometimes, and that can make it more difficult and complicated for him to deal with emotional or interpersonal issues. His self-esteem isn’t great, and he can be easily discouraged and depressed, which in turn can make him passive-aggressive--he isn’t always the easiest kid to live with.
At the end of the day, though, he’s working on trying to grow, and expand--he might not be there yet, but he’s making an effort! I’m taking him from a place where that growth is just beginning to happen--he’s shy but he’s starting to put himself out there, he’s hesitant but he’ll step in when he thinks it’s really needed, and he’s quiet but he’ll speak up when it’s the right thing to do.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
O - Gentle
O - Polite
O - Good at making violins
O - Good at putting on a rubber suit and punching Fangires
X - Kind of a pushover
X - Passive-aggressive
X - Sort of hesitates to hurt people when they’re not a direct threat/not a Fangire, so the usefulness of his rubber-suit-punching capabilities is questionable
[ Other Important Facts ] :
He transforms using a tiny bat who is autonomous (which allows him to transform when he can’t really move, or use his hands, which is helpful) and is technically a character in his own right--I want Wataru to have the Kamen Rider powers, but I’m planning to sort of keep Kivatte quiet and hand-wave the the transformations without the banter back and forth, if that’s all right with the mods. If not, please contact me and we can work something out!
[ Sample ] :
[The SFC clicks on accidentally as its user rolls over onto it and it skitters out of his pocket to show him coughing and shaking water out of his eyes. He looks a bit bewildered--he doesn’t normally fall asleep in the bath, and even when he does, he wakes up before the water gets this cold...
His eyes widen visibly when he realizes that he’s outside and he squeaks and scrabbles at his clothes before it registers that he’s actually wearing some. He slumps a little in relief, pushing his wet hair out of his face and pouting a little, looking exhausted and very, very confused before he looks down and notices the tiny starfish with the camera and the display and the small, blinking light and picks it up curiously. He taps at it a little hesitantly before he looks into the camera and clears his throat before speaking, his voice soft and excruciatingly polite.]
Um... excuse me. ...would it be possible for anyone to tell me where I am?
