I've had this story in my mind for a while now. Finally I've had the time to finish this (really) short One-Shot or long drabble ;)
Also, as you know, I like more than one JE band, so this story isn't about KAT-TUN, but about NEWS. I'd be happy if you read it anyway :D
So before you read. This J-Web entry from Yamashita Tomohisa is what the story is about:
HERE The quotes in the story are actually from this entry, just so you don't get confused!
Now have fun reading it 💕
Don't regret!
rating: pg
pairing: Koyama Keiichiro/Yamashita Tomohisa
warnings: None at all! It's more than safe :)
disclaimer: Like always, I don't own anything but the plot, and I would be glad if you leave me that one ;)
summary: It hurts! It hurts a lot reading that J-Web entry!
For some reason Koyama had some free time on his hand while he waited for the others to arrive. Since he thought he could as well use the time to do something productive, he decided to go through J-Web. It was always good to know more about his senpai or kohai. As he scrolled over the bands and solo artists, his finger stopped over Yamapis name. Before he could really think about it, he had already tapped the name. If anyone would have been there to watch Koyama read, he would have been shocked at the way the man's face slowly darkened. After the tall man had finished reading, he blankly stared at his phone display. Was this for real? He couldn't believe the nerve of Yamapi. How dare he!
He was so occupied by his thoughts that he didn't even notice that his band members had entered the room. At first they didn't see their leader as well because of their animated conversation. It was Shige who saw his best friend first. "Hey Kei," with a huff he let himself fall into the stool next to Koyama, "what do you think, should Massu make our costumes again? Tegoshi is being a bitch and doesn't want that." "Hey," Tegoshi scolded, "I just think we have enough work as it is. We shouldn't burden him with the job of designing our costumes." He turned to look at Massu directly, "If you have an idea for costumes you can present them to us and we'll think of using them. But there's no need to pressure yourself with the responsibility of designing them." Massu rolled his eyes at that somehow childish fight, even if it revolved around him. "Look, it's nice of you to care for me in that way, but my schedule isn't that full. I can manage to design a few clothes. Besides, it's something I love to do, so it doesn't bother me," he clarified. Shige nodded, "That's why I made that suggestion. So what do you think Kei?"
As he looked at his best friend though, he realized something was wrong. "Kei?" Shige asked while he shook his hand in front of said man's face. Slowly Koyama lifted his eyes of the screen to stare at Shige, "Huh?" "Are you alright Koyama?" Massu questioned with a frown, worried now. This wasn't their usual leader. Koyama turned around to blink at him before he showed clear anger on his face. He lifted his finger to point at Massu. "You," he accused, voice quivering from anger, "talked to him!" Surprised the other three gaped at Koyama.
Massu couldn't even utter a 'huh' because of shock. All of them jumped when Koyama hit the table with his flat hand. "If you're talking to him again, you probably know if Yamashita is here today! Tell me, is he here?", he asked Massu through gritted teeth. Massu nodded slightly scared. Instantly Koyama was on his feet and out of the room. He knew where to find his former 'leader'. The rest of the group stared wide eyed at each other before they hastily followed him.
--------------------------------------------------
Yamapi sipped at his coffee while he read the script for his new drama when the door to his dressing room was opened forcefully. “HOW DARE YOU!” It was screamed with such a force and anger from an unexpected person that Pi spit out his coffee in surprise. “What?” He asked as he stared shocked at Koyama. The tall man came over and pulled the script out of his hands to take a look. “Another drama,” he said after a while, “What else!” Koyama glared at his former band leader in a way that made Yamapi flinch.
He breathed a sigh of relieve when in that moment the other three arrived. Yamapi had no idea what he did to make Koyama, who usually was the calmest and sweetest guy he knew, this angry. He jumped as the script landed on the table with a loud thud. “Koyama, what...,” Yamapi started, but was instantly interrupted. ”Tell me, Yamashita-san, if you still get your drama roles and CD releases, why do you need our fame?” Koyama hissed at him. Now Yamapi was totally lost. “What do you mean? I don't understand what you're talking about!”
“What I'm talking about?” Koyama repeated through gritted teeth. Everyone watched in shock when Koyama burst into tears and started to sob. All his anger seemed to be forgotten while now his sadness showed. “Kei, what happened. What did I do?” Yamapi asked carefully. He didn't want to hurt his former band mate more than he obviously had. Koyama shook his head, “You...you...,” but his own sobs cut of his words. With caution Shige approached both of them. “Kei? What happened?” he asked while he rubbed over his best friends back.
In an abrupt movement Koyama pulled out his mobile to open the page he had read before and handed it to Yamapi, who blinked confused at seeing his own J-web entry. “'I listened to NEWS new album White! There were a lot of great songs!'” The sarcastic tone in Koyama's voice as he quoted what Yamapi had written, made the solo artist flinch. “ And much worse: 'Listening to it made me want to listen back to our old songs. Man, those were good old days.'“ Koyama continued to quote without hesitation. His anger seemed to come back because he clenched his fist's until his knuckles turned white. “You were the one that left! You don't get to say those things,“ he said, his voice firm.
At this Yamapi's face hardened. Slowly he stood up and handed Koyama his phone back. His eyes shone with anger, “Of course I have the right to say it because it's the truth! I may have left but I was once a part of NEWS and NEWS will always be a part of me. You can't take that away from me! I loved being in NEWS, you know that!” “THEN WHY DID YOU LEAVE? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE US ALONE ON THE VERGE OF BEING DISBANDED?” Koyama started to scream. His body trembled from suppressed tears and anger. “HONESTLY, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH WE HAD TO FIGHT TO EXIST EVEN LONGER? HOW MUCH WE HAD TO GO THROUGH TO BE WERE WE ARE NOW?” He crouched down to hide his face in his arms. “Now you come again ….and write about us like we...we are important to you while it only...it only feels like you use our name to....to get something of it!” His words were interfered with loud sobs. Koyama lifted his head to throw Yamapi an accusing look that lost its strength because of the tears that were rolling down his cheeks. “You're just a selfish prick who doesn't think about others,” he spit out before he hid his face again.
The other four had frozen at the impact of the situation. Never had they seen Koyama like that. After a while where only Koyama's sobs disturbed the room, it was Tegoshi who reacted. When Yamapi looked at them for help, he mouthed at his former leader to comfort the man on the floor. Yamapi watched Koyama for a while before he sighed and crouched down as well. “Kei, I'm sorry, I didn't know it had hurt you that much,” he said softly while he stroked over the man's arm. “I just love this job and I loved NEWS before and...and I miss working with you, laughing with you, being with you. I miss you and it hurts!” came the small voiced reply from Koyama that Yamapi almost didn't catch. His eyes softened and he smiled.
He sat down completely to pull Koyama on to his lap into a hug. Instantly the hug was returned while Koyama now hid his face in Yamapis hair. “That's exactly why I wrote that in my J-web. I really thought you guys did an amazing job with White! But I also miss you a lot,” he whispered into Koyama's hair. As he heard that, Koyama lifted his head only to blush at the closeness of their faces which made Yamapi's smile widen. He lowered his head slowly and their lips met softly. There was no haste or deepness behind their kiss at all. It was simply a confirmation of their love they had held for each other for years. It took them long but in the end they finally found each other.
THE END
