Day 30 - Your aspirations
Yeah, right.
Truthfully, as much as I would love to take on a monumental project like this, I simply don't have the time. Looking back at my LJ calendar, I haven't even made 30 posts yet in 2010 (I think this one is #29), so I just can't have it on my to-do list. Too much pressure.
But I thought it'd be fun to pick out the easy ones; ones that I can dedicate a small amount of time to, the ones that would be fun to document. Not an unfortunate post about "something I regret," like that time I celebrated my birthday at TGI Friday's and they tied a bunch of balloons in my hair so I'd look like an idiot and I thought it'd be a great idea to shoot a Blow Job the proper way with my hands behind my back and how I totally choked on it and it came streaming out my nose in front of 25 of my closest friends who thought that was JUST FUCKING GREAT HAHAHA and my nose burned like a bitch because I snorted alcohol.
I don't want to talk about stuff like that.
Anyway.
Since I just so happened to be switching out my bag today, Day 12's topic caught my eye. So I am going to show...
***WHAT'S IN MY BAG!***
Before I start, I should mention that I am a bag whore. I really am. I LOVE bags, and not just handbags. I keep those cute brown handle bags from Starbucks because you never know when you might need a cute brown handle bag from Starbucks. I keep birthday bags. I collect and keep decorative disposable bags for no reason other than to HAVE them. I love bags.
I have never owned, and probably never will own, a designer bag. With the exception of a couple that have fleetingly caught my eye in the past, I have never found any of them truly appealing, and let's face it, some of them are downright ugly. You just KNOW the people at Gucci design some stupid-looking bag on purpose and then sit back and laugh at all the morons clamoring to buy a deliberate piece of shit. Take a look at some of these gems:
This poor bag is suffering from multiple personality disorder. It has no idea what it's supposed to be. Part snaffle bit, part Tonto's fanny pack, part tasseled curtains à la hookah lounge. Totally fugly.

This lamentable clutch looks like it was picked up at the local swap meet along with an Embellish It! kit and given to someone's 10-year old daughter for a little DIY fashion crafting. They actually want money for this?

And this one's all kinds of fucked up because the designer clearly drew his inspiration for it while gazing distastefully into dear sweet Grandma's pink satin-lined coffin.
See? Bet you a dollar it smells like old people cologne.

That'll be $1500, sucka....
Nope, I'm not a fan of the designer bag. I AM, however, a big fan of Loungefly. Their style is right up my alley and I browse their catalog frequently. So here is the bag I'm switching into today. My Loungefly Angry Hello Kitty bag. Isn't she sweet?

And here's what's in it.
Wallet, prescription sunglasses and work badge.

Cute makeup bag that my dear friend Michelley got me for my birthday several years ago, filled with on-the-go makeup (mostly various lip glosses) and hair ties for me and Killian. Tissues, hand sanitizer and wipes because HELLO I'm a mom.

My awesome new Droid X, iPad (which I carry around frequently enough that it's in my bag a lot) and Skullcandy earbuds.

Gum for myself and the kids, a little notebook with pens (which I really don't need anymore now that I have my awesome web-enabled mobile device--why did I not get one of these sooner?), eucalyptus lotion and sunglasses.

And now you know what's in my bag. :)
