Today I ate at Chef Ming's for lunch with some co-workers. As always, I let everyone choose their fortune cookies at the end and what's left is almost always mine. Today felt like no exception, and I feel that it really means something. Problem is, it's meaning is left with some interpretation and I am curious as to what others think it might mean. The fortune said:
"You are contemplating some action which will bring credit upon you."
For me personally, the part of "bringing credit upon you" has me thrown off. Does this mean my choice will be "approved" by others as a good choice? I've never sought such approval. Sure, people agreeing with the choices you make is a nice thing to have but that's something I don't practice. Is there a time where a choice must require the approval of another? Of course the word credit gives the connotation of something positive, but could it still be bad? I'm not as superstitious as most, but there are a few things I believe can have a message hidden within them; nature, your dreams, and fortune cookies. Which reminds me that on my birthday yesterday, as I was leaving my house and started down the first road of my neighborhood, a turtle had crossed my path and was walking in the road in front of my car. I observed his direction of travel and picked him up and sat him in the grassy area on the other side of the road and then drove off. It is said that it's fortuitous for that to happen, and it was the 4th time in my life this has happened and it was on my birthday too so it made my day. The fortune just has me curious and feedback would be nice.
