Better part of a month catchup post.

When we last left Our Protagonist, she had just expressed extreme frustration over work schedule indecisiveness.

Since then...

* The schedule has stabilized and we do, in fact, have more time for the Big Project. This also means that I will be able to go up and visit capfox in October! We've been promising a visit for a while so it's good to finally have the chance.

* On the other hand, the schedule for next year is already starting to look utterly brutal. It's probably a bit early to make plans, but there's a good chance that any travel that I do is likely going to primarily be fairly intense weekend trips.

* However, those work out really well, given how fun LA was in May and how fun SF was three weeks ago. It's kind of funny how I'd never been to California before and then have been twice in less than four months. The wedding was lovely and we had an awesome time going all over the city, taking lots of different methods of transportation and sampling lots of fun foods. The one thing we didn't make that I wish we could have was the Asian Art Museum, but I'd imagine someday we'll be back.

* Given the trips I've been lucky to be able to take this year, I should not be complaining so much. ^^; But the most recent complaints were about disappointment about not being able to visit friends more than not being able to see a place. Plus, I was pretty stressed overall.

* After having months of high-pressure situations at work, I've found that since things have relaxed, I'm actually having a bit of trouble motivating myself. This is passing, though, especially as more pieces fall into place and there's more to work on.

* Now that things are less stressful at work I'm getting back to planning things in FFXI. I've done pretty much nothing with Abyssea. I broke my "no random parties" rule the other night to try getting xp in an Abyssea alliance. I quickly remembered why I instituted that rule. At least I didn't come out of it with less xp than I went in.

* I have FF14 and I've made a character, but the server some my FFXI friends planned to use quickly filled up and is currently closed to new characters. So I'm waiting to see if it reopens or if we'll pick a new one or what. But that actually works out okay since I'm debating whether to do something similiar to my FFXI character (I can't replicate her exactly since they didn't copy over all the hairstyles) or something different. The majority of my gaming time is still going to be in FFXI since there's lots of stuff I want to do, but I kind of wanted to get in on the ground floor of FF14, even if I'm not going to be playing it that much for a while.

To quote Professor Layton, "And there you have it." Speaking of which, the slogan for the newest game is apparently "Keep Solving and Carry On." I love it. ^^
