July Infodump

According to the date of my last entry, it's been nearly a month since I last posted. I didn't intend for that to happen, but like I've said many times before, LJ-writing is a habit that's very easy for me to drop. The days of almost religious daily updating are long gone. I haven't moved over to any other form of social media. I don't have Twitter, Facebook, another blog (well, okay, I occasionally write guest entries on grysar's other blog, but it's very infrequent and it's not my blog), or anything like that. I'm just not that interested in them, and considering how well I'm keeping up the LJ, they'd likely share the same fate.

Work has been extremely busy for the past couple of months, and looks to be busy for the next few as well. It tends to build up stress over time. I went on vacation for almost a week, to Colorado with my husband and mother-in-law, and while it was great fun, I had to work really hard to get things done before I left and I've been working fairly hard ever since I got back. The timing of the trip was not-so-great, but it's not like I can predict these things months in advance. I can only look at the overall schedule, and at the time things looked decently clear.

The trip really was fun, though. I might write up a few entries on Greg's other blog. Travelblogging entries are nice because they make it easy to go back and look at what we did. When I'm having a bad day, reading the entries and viewing the pictures make me feel better. It was marred slightly by a bout of 24-hour stomach flu and the fact that I forgot to bring any sort of eye protection, and therefore my eyes were prone to severe dryness and sensitivity. My left eye in particular was being troublesome, but I went to the optometrist and nothing was damaged, just dry and irritated. I've been using over-the-counter eyedrops and trying to avoid staring at computers any more than I have to. (Which, given the nature of my job, is kind of hard. ^^;)

I've been refraining from FFXI in the evenings to try and give my eyes a rest. I probably should not have done as much as I did on Sunday and Monday, as my eye particularly bothered me on Monday. I'm also so tired from work that I'm needing a bit more unscheduled time in the evenings, so I'm not really motivated to do that much activity planning at the moment. I'd already spoken to my Dynamis leader about sporadic attendance due to work and gotten her approval there. Even if I haven't done too many late nights yet, I can see myself needing them in the future.

After a fairly long hiatus, I've resumed Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. This is partly motivated by the fact that the third game is coming out in September. ^^; It is still great fun. I'm not entirely sure why I stopped playing, because I wasn't stuck on a particularly tough puzzle or anything like that. I think I might have put it on hold when I got Dissidia and then never got around to resuming it. It's like my LJ posting, I guess.

I may go back to posting really quick entries about stuff I find interesting. I may end up writing longer entries. I may not write for another month. Time will tell.
