my first day...
wow this is probably one of the best jobs in the world! got there at 8:30am and took the first tour out on the boat ...the chop was pretty bad in the straight and the early wake up combined with a rocking boat made for one sea sick annie. as soon as we got to the gulf islands it was all good...we didnt see any whales cuz apparently all three pods are around seattle at the moment...still we got to see eagles and harbour seals. We got back at 1:30pm and they asked if i wanted to go out on the 2pm tour...this time a small pod of dall's porposies (see pic above) rode our bow waves and played around the boat for an hour...they were so close i couldve touched them! the scenery is incredible so even without the whales its great...still i cant wait to see my first orca! So i worked a 9hr day that i didnt think i was gonna get paid for but it turns out that they want to pay me even though i was just watching...i START at $13/hr and since they dont take the tax off its like i'm making $15...hot diggity! my next day isnt until aug 30 so i have a bit of time to study ....phew! my first day at the aquarium store is next weekend so hopefully i can work around the two until oct.! neways im going back to bed....later
