I've been thinking about this for awhile, I know what album pushed me over the cliff and into the deep, deep ravine that is K-Pop and K-Rock, but I'm very curious to find out who it was for my friends. I hope you'll post a reply and we can find out and share one another's first loves!
For me, it was Lee Jung-Hyun's Magic to Go To My Star. The heavy dance beat and her raps were just so different from anything in the music scene at the time, especially in the U.S. I wasn't so sure about her high voice, but it's since (obviously) grown on me. I will understand if people can't get past it. But I know that buying this album in a little Korean shop back in the day kind of changed my life. I love that the songs and lyrics are about more than just love. Especially No More Terror - obvious what it's about if you listen and realize this album came out in 2001.
