Here is the initial "class" itinerary regarding the backpacking trip to china. Any suggestions?

Course Mission: This course is designed solely for the development of independent learning. Realizing that academics in a structured setting such as a college classroom can hinder the knowledge of a topic as large as China, this class will provide immediate cultural immersion as well as opportunities to solve problems in a realistic setting produced from unexpected cultural conflicts.

1. Keep a daily journal.
2. Keep a video documentary.
3. Give a presentation to the campus.

January 3rd: Leave for China.
January 5th: Arrive in Beijing.
January 6th-9th: Visit sites in Beijing:
• Great Wall
• Forbidden City
• Tiedemann Square
• Chairman Mao Mausoleum
January 10th-12th: Train ride to Kunming
January 13th-16th: Visit sites in Kunming:
• Stone Forest
• Bamboo Temple
• Western Hills (Xi Shan)
January 17th-18th: Train ride to Hong Kong
January 19th-21st: Visit sites in Hong Kong:
• Go Kayaking! (pg 510 of lonely planet)
• Ten Thousand Buddha’s Monastery, located in Sha Tin (pg 509)
• Visit Lantao (optional)
January 22: Leave for Beijing. Bum around till January 25th, at which we depart for America.
