[TUTORIAL 02] Alexander Icon Coloring

Alexander Coloring Tutorial




*Done is Photoshop CS2
*Uses Selective Coloring
*Includes .PSD

 
Step One:

Duplicate Background Image

Set to SCREEN; Opacity 45%

Step Two:

Create Selective Coloring Layer

Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color

Settings:

REDS

Cyan: -80

Yellow: +7

YELLOWS

Cyan: +7

Yellow: -20

NEUTRALS

Cyan: +10

Yellow: +7

Step Three:

Add another Selective Coloring Layer

Settings:

REDS

Cyan: -40

Black: -5

YELLOWS:

Yellow: -20

NEUTRALS

Cyan: +7

Magenta: -5

Yellow: -5

Step Four:

Create a Color Balance Layer

Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance

Settings:

Midtones: -12, -15, +10

Step Five:

Finally another Color Balance Layer

Settings:

Midtones: -10, +10, +10

Shadows: -10, +5, +10

Highlights: -8, 0, 0

Examples:


 
 

This tutorial works well with images that are YELLOW.
Might cause some images to be really blue
