This was supposed to be something fluffy, but it turned into something completely different >.>
Ms. Park and Mrs. Kim are great friends, the best of friends really. Like their boys, they have developed a strong friendship from the common wish of wanting the best for their kids. They each have two growing boys that have blossomed intro strong independent men and a year ago, circumstance led them their friendship to progress to family after Ms. Park’s oldest son - Park Yoochun - and Mrs. Kim’s youngest - Kim Junsu - sat their parents down for dinner one day and revealed they had been dating for five years and were moving in together. Of course this was not news to either woman, as they’d both seen that love struck look Yoochun reserved only for Junsu. Not to mention the way the normally selfish and unconcerned Junsu always took special care of Yoochun, attentive to the point both women had joked it was like their sons were an old married couple.
“Are you sure this is the right time for this?” Mr. Kim asked as he helped load the boxes of Junsu’s belongings into the back seat of Junsu’s car.
“I think this is the best time,” Junsu responded as he shut the trunk and went around to help his struggling dad. “Isn’t there a saying, or something, about not really knowing a person until you’ve lived together?”
Mr. Kim moved away to let Junsu shut the door. “There is some truth to that.”
Junsu stretched, muscles aching from packing his things last night and loading the car today. He draped an arm over his father’s shoulders, giving the older man an affectionate squeeze as they waited for Junho and Mrs. Kim to come outside. “Don’t think about it so much. Yoochun and I have shared a dorm room before and everything was fine.”
“Yes, but you had other roommates then.”
“Stop worrying, besides it’s not permanent. It’s only for a few months, once their old house is sold, Yoochun’s moving his family to Seoul.” Junsu smiled to himself as he thought back to the expression on his boyfriends face when he’d told him his plans. “Yoohwan’s debuting as an actor soon, and Yoochun wants to make the transition as easy as possible for when he’s not in town to help.”
Mr. Kim sighed, “yes, I know.”
Mrs. Kim appeared then, a bright smile on her lips and three large Tupperware dishes in her hands. “Stop giving him grief about it. The boys’ already made up his mind and they’ll be fine. Five years is a long time for everything they’ve gone through up to now.”
Mr. Kim took the dishes from her, and Mrs. Kim opened her arms to embrace her baby boy. “I expect you two to visit as often as possible, and when Ms. Park and Yoohwan come down we’ll have a welcoming party.”
Junsu laughed, “That’s a great idea.” He hugged his mom one last time. “Seriously though, this isn’t anything new. We probably won’t even be home long enough to notice a difference so I don’t see why you guys are making such a big deal out of it.” He laughed again.
Mrs. Kim smiled a knowing smile and leaned into her husband who wrapped an arm around her waist and sighed heavily knowing what Junsu was in store for. A relationship was a relationship after all. Moving in with your significant other, even for a short time, could make or break them.
Junho came out of the house then, keys in hand and sunglasses in the other. He gave them all a confused look when they turned to stare at him. “What?”
Mrs. Kim patted her oldest sons arm affectionately, “nothing sweetheart.”
Junho didn’t look convinced, but he took the dishes from his dad, “are you ready, Junsu?”
“Yeah, let’s go.” Junsu waved at his parents again, and got into his car. He pulled out of the driveway and Junho followed him in his car.
Yoochun wasn’t at the apartment when Junsu and Junho arrived.
Junho didn’t say anything, but he couldn’t help judging him for not being there.
“Is that the last of it?” Junho asked as he finished unpacking a box of Junsu’s video games.
“Should be, I didn’t see anything else in the car.”
Junho nodded, stacking the games on the cd rack by the big screen and stopping when he came across a particular roleplaying game, “hey, this is mine.”
Junsu didn’t bother looking over from where he was arranging his shoes in the doorway, “just let me borrow it, I’ll mail it to you once I beat it.”
Junho continued stacking and stopped at a different title, “then I’m taking your new final fantasy.”
Junsu abruptly turned to him, “but I haven’t even played it yet!”
Junho smirked, waving the game in the air, “yeah well, I’ll mail it to you when I beat it.”
Junsu made a face at being teased, “fine.”
He sulked for the rest of the day, unpacking and getting almost everything put away by the time Junho announced he had to go get ready for a date and Junsu pestered him about whom it was.
“Are you still dating your English tutor?”
Junho made a face, “no way, I broke up with her weeks ago. I’m seeing my old college professor now.”
Junsu cringed, “What? Why?”
Junho punched him in the arm, “because I felt like it.” He pulled out his phone, and scrolled through his pictures before finding what he was looking for and shoving his phone in Junsu’s face.
Junsu gaped at the selca of his brother getting a kiss on the cheek from a familiar raven-haired man, “that’s not your professor!” He almost confused him with Yoochun, those features were so similar to his boyfriends, but where Yoochun’s features were more defined, the man in the picture had a softer appearance. “When did you start seeing Yoohwan?! Yoochun’s gonna kill you!!”
Junho grinned, proud to have caught his brother so off guard, “sorry, bro, I don’t have time for questioning tonight.”
Junsu, jaw still slack from shock, managed to close his mouth with a harsh snap, “Junho, your not-”
“Got to go, bye bro.” Junho slipped into his shoes and was out the door before Junsu could finish his thought.
‘Junho, your not toying with him, are you?’
Jaejoong poured water into two tall glasses. He reached into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a palm sized blue packet, tore it open, and let the large white pills it’d housed fall into one of the glasses. He watched it dissolve with interest, waiting for the white powder it released to settle. There was a noticeable difference between this glass and the one with plain water. He leaned back against the kitchen counter and waited, eyes on the drinks.
“What are you doing?”
Jaejoong didn’t look up, but nodded his head at the glasses.
“What this?” One of the glasses, the one with cloudy water, disappeared from Jaejoongs’ line of sight.
Jaejoong smiled, and looked at the man sniffing at drink. “I went to the market yesterday. One of the ajumma’s gave me a suggestion for a drink and I had time so I made it.”
“What’s it for?”
Jaejoong didn’t say anything; he nodded towards the drink and made a sign with his hand for him to drink it.
“No way, last time you had me drink one of your concoctions I was out of it for three days.” He placed the cup on the counter again, stepping away as he put on his jacket. “I don’t have that kind of time today, I’m running late as it is.”
Jaejoong glanced at the clock over the stove, and smiled. “Your late alright,” he walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out various sized Tupperware dishes. “Give me a second, and I’ll take you.”
“What’s all this?”
“Food… for Junsu of course.”
Silence greeted that remark and Jaejoong ignored the frown and incredulous eyes being sent his way.
Junsu followed Jaejoong around the kitchen, watching as the older man commented on how many things their kitchen was lacking even as the rest of their home was filled with unnecessary things and only the best equipment.
“Hyung, do you think we could get a waffle maker? I really liked the waffles you made last time.”
“I don’t know, Su, I don’t think it’d be a good idea to leave either one of you with something so dangerous.”
Junsu latched onto Jaejoongs’ arm, tugging at the appendage in a cute manor as he pouted and blinked his eyes so they’d water, “ but, but, Junsu like’s waffles.”
Jaejoong shook his head, features set in an I’m-not-giving-in-on-this-one expression. Junsu started pulling away, giving flimsy tugs on Jaejoong’s arms, but before he could break full contact Jaejoong pulled him into a hug, resting their foreheads together. “I just don’t want you burning down this place.” He laughed, eyes shut and arms loosely circling Junsu.
Junsu scowled, ready to rebuttal, but settled instead for hugging Jaejoong around the shoulders, “aish, hyung, I wouldn’t go that far…”
Jaejoong pulled him closer, resting his chin on Junsu’s shoulder and locked eyes with a silent Yoochun who’d been watching them from the start.
“Hey… Junsu…” Yoochun hesitated, back turned from the man sharing his bed as he whispered, “Are you sleeping?”
When no answer came, he carefully turned and cuddled up to Junsu’s bare back. He laid an arm over Junsus waist, following the line of his arm to his hand and linking their fingers to rest of the sleeping mans stomach.
“Babe…” he tried again, face hidden in the warmth of Junsu’s neck. No answer came, only a soft snore and Yoochun smiled despite the inner turmoil he felt. “Babe, I don’t know what to do. I can’t do commitment… but… but I don’t want to lose you.” He settled more fully against Junsu’s warm body, and after a while slept.
Junsu’s eyes slowly opened. Tears gathered in their depths, even as his expression remained blank. “I don’t need commitment, Yoochun… I just need your pain…”
Update: So there was a lot of confusion over the sudden change of mood... >.> I don't blame anyone, but myself OTL Anywho, I'll be turning this into a two-shot to explain things better~
