"She'll ruin your face with her powerful thighs"... Oh, Billy.

This was for certain, the best weekend of 2008 thus far!

Friday, dad came to pick me up and I took him to Sunroom for lunch and the food was so good! We did not stop talking the entire way home. Got home and started making plans with Jessica. We decided to go Glo-Bowling. Adam was very very good at bowling and Joel managed to get 5 strikes in a row, which made me lose our bet. Sadness. Nick was highly entertaining. Then, we decided to go to Webb's and we had the crankiest waitress ever.

"Do you have apple pie?"
"No."
"Do you have any pie?"
"No."
"Do you have anything sweet?"
"Chocolate cake."

Nick entertained us with some fancy bottle/money tricks. Then we called it a night.

Saturday, I made my parents breakfast because we had a lot of eggs at our house. Then I made cupcakes. Got some stuff done at home and around town. Eventually, it was time to go to dinner. So, 14 of us went out to Champps. Oh boy, did I get paranoid about time, and rightly so. Had issues with the bill, which I thought we'd gotten over a long time ago, but whatever. Kriste, Karen, and I definitely pressured Ryan to drive fast, which probably stressed him out. We made it though, missing only the first few lines of dialogue and part of a song. "Bye Bye Birdie" was great! Cody was the right choice for Birdie, though he looked a bit drugged out due to makeup and he was very pale. I was so proud of all the boys (namely, Karl, Kraig, Sam, Brett, and the Bryans), and the girls were very good at being screaming fangirls. We were the last people in the multi-purpose room and after finding out I was locked out of my house, we headed over to Hrdi's. The cupcakes were devoured and some interesting conversations took place. After leaving, Joel and I watched Phantom of the Opera. I reminded myself of just how much better it is on the stage. I hope to see it again someday.

Sunday, Dad made waffles in the waffle iron my mom was going to give me for Christmas... And then, (this is very exciting) Nina came over! Nina, Nick, and I watched some Ninja stuff and then played SceneIt? Caught up on all the goings on. It had been far too long. So that was an excellent way to spend part of the day. After that, Joel came over and we headed downtown for BILLY JOEL! We just barely got a great parking spot and we headed inside! The seats were great. We were about 20 feet from Kyle Sorvick and his wife. Haha. The show was incredible. One of my two favorite concerts ever. Billy Joel is just epic to me and I had so much fun. Here's what he played: Prelude/Angry Young Man, Roll Out the Barrel, My Life, Everybody Loves You Now, The Entertainer, The Ballad of Billy the Kid, Allentown, New York State of Mind, Zanzibar, Root Beer Rag, Anthony's Song (Movin' Out), Don't Ask Me Why, Captain Jack, She's Always A Woman, River of Dreams (with Born to Be Wild in there for some reason), Highway to Hell (he played guitar while Chainsaw was singing), We Didn't Start the Fire, It's Still Rock And Roll to Me, You May Be Right, then the three song encore: Scenes From an Italian Restaurant, Only the Good Die Young, and Piano Man. So, it was pretty much amazing. There are some pictures on Facebook, though my camera has a pretty crappy zoom which is made worse by lack of flash, so most are grainy. I loved that he sounded as good live as his cds do. That to me is obvious talent. During "Still Rock and Roll", he popped his collar and was trying to be Elvis. It was so funny. He kept twirling the mic and he therefore dropped it a few times. Such a cute old man. He told a lot of dirty jokes. Oh, and he deemed "Root Beer Rag" as "the pee break song", but I wouldn't have missed that one for anything!

Then, dad had to drive me back to Madison and I got back at 1:30. The weather was bad on and off, but he made it safely back to Milwaukee. I totally slept through Italian today. Oops! Oh well!

Time to go turn in my Folklore paper...

weekends, concert
