So, this weekend was exhausting. I was Jeeping with my parents for their 22nd anniversary. While it may not sound too trying, you'd be surprised how much it wears you out, especially when you're already sleep-deprived. I went straight from class, to my house to pack, to the ferry to Michigan, to the hotel. Woke up at 7 and headed off on the adventure. Oh, and it was an adventure. It was my family, another couple from Bristol and our guide, Glen. Glen didn't understand any of my mom's jokes. We all had these 2-way radios that were quite a good time. Nick and I had our share of  "No, I can't say that" and "the moment has passed" moments. Nick and I ended up driving together. We were crazy. We ended up needing a tow out of a mud/sand pit more than once. Haha. We were both really tired both days. Plus, riding around on rough terrain for 2 days straight can be kinda tough on the neck and back. We made the best of it by singing, eating jerky to stay awake, and drinking some Monster. The most common song was probably the "Jurassic Park" theme song. It was very reminiscent of that movie. Other selections were Herman's Hermits "Mrs. Brown" and "Henry the VIII", Panic!, Grease, Oliver, and even some Kelly Clarkson. We did what we had to to stay awake.

Michigan really is beautiful this time of year, but I would've enjoyed the trip more if I was well-rested and not worrying about school and exams. Anyway, after we were done with the actual Jeeping, we went out to dinner and then went to wait for 4 hours for the ferry. Nick and I did some studying, the family tried to sleep in the car. We were ready to go. But then, the boat was an hour late, and then, it never came... Yeah, so it was about 9:00 Sunday night when they told us the ferry wasn't coming. Our back-up plan? Driving around the lake, through Chicago. So, that's roughly a 6 hour drive, if traffic is good. Anyway, I slept on and off during that trip, mostly off. I don't sleep well sitting up... So, then we get back to Franklin and I re-pack my stuff and get back in the car with my dad. Luckily I got to sleep this stretch of the trip. I felt so bad for my dad. By the time we got here, it was 3:30 and he decided to sleep in his car.

I really didn't want to miss class, though the idea of skipping class did cross my mind today. Mondays are my longest days, but I went to all of my classes. Yay for me.

Needless to say, I'm very tired and tonight I'm going to pull what Ryan would call a "Lakeshore" and go to sleep before 10:30.
