"I don't understand the whole reason why
You're telling us all that we need to unify
Rally round the flag and beat the drums of war
Sing the same old songs, we've heard them all before
You tellin' me it's unpatriotic, but I call it what I see it when I see it's idiotic
It's not a war on evil, it's really just revenge
You can say what you want on propaganda television
But all bombing is terrorism
We can chase down all our enemies, bring them to their knees
We can bomb the world to pieces, but we can't bomb it into peace
I say, power to the peaceful / Love to the people" Bomb the World by Michael Franti & Spearhead

I have fallen in love with Michael Franti, I was wandering around the local music shop awhile back checking out the new deliveries, and rediscovering old loves. At this store, if you find a CD that you want to listen to you bring it up to the front, they open it up and throw it on. I threw on this CD "Everyone Deserves Music" and soon people in the store were grooving while checking out other things. Everyone there wanted to know what the CD was... 2 ended up buying it on the spot. I stayed and listened to the entire CD so did a few others. Brilliant lyrics with a messege, reminicent of Bob Marley... add a lot of funk, some hip hop, a good amount of disco, cools it down to a nice jazzy beat, toss in some reggae beats and voila Micharl Franti and Spearhead. There are even hints of Mo-Town and 50's dance hall riffs and beats. It's hard music to catagorize for no two songs sound the same; every track begs you to groove along with it. In the words of the P-Funk.. it's gonna boogey woogey on your brain!

(few edits from the original version.. as I listen more ideas are coming to me.)
