Tabitha Darling Williams
31 May 1997 - 20 October 2014
We ended Tabitha's life today, and she is now lying in a well-dug grave in the garden. It's been a gradual decline over the past few weeks; it might have gone on a little longer, but she's been finding it harder even to keep cat-milk down, and it's a week or so since she managed more than a mouthful of solid food, and we decided it was best to stop before things got worse for her.

It's been a good weekend none the less, and she had a long snooze in my lap last night.

Then she came to bed with me and Rosie. She had a little milk in the morning, and then we went to see the vet, and after a short discussion agreed that it was time. She was cross about having her paw shaved - she always hated that - but accepted it after a little sedation, and was out like a light once the injection came.

Everyone has been very kind - my neighbour who took us there and back, the vet, the gardener who dug her grave, all of you.

Tabitha has had a long and good life, first with Hilda and then with me. I am so lucky to have had her living here for the past six and a half years, and I am lucky that Rosie is still with me for a little longer.
