England won

And so England won, effectively in two and a half days, putting an end to all calculations about how much play might survive the arrival of the remnants of Hurricane Bertha, even if that's supposed to be mostly in the south. Oh, and they couldn't use their best bowler from the first innings, because he was in hospital, and He Who Has 376 Test wickets apparently wasn't feeling very well either, though he managed 375 and 376.

So I've got two days of my life back, and must do my best not to squander them. I think I'll go and watch Melvyn Bragg's Radical Lives. (And, damnit, are there really only two episodes of this? I was hoping he'd have lined up Samuel Bamford for next week's Peterloo anniversary.)
