I have been hoping for a day like today for a while. I do love living here, but there are times where the grayness and rain and dreariness get to me. And it takes a lot to get me down. The sun is shining and I'm getting stuff done!
I purged my closet for a "Naked Lady" party this evening. No, this is not a party where women get naked. It's a clothing, jewelry, art, whatever you want exchange. And it's also an excuse to get together with some fabulous women and drink wine too. It felt really good to clean that closet out.
I went for a nice, long bike ride. I wanted to sit and enjoy the view of the bay while soaking up some much needed sun rays, so I found a quiet park bench near the waters edge. I watched people walking on the boardwalk, sailboats bobbing and dipping, and seagulls catching the wind. It felt sooooooooo good to close my eyes, feel the salty breeze and warm sun on my face.
I also got some seedlings into one of my veggie beds. I planted some broccoli, romaine lettuce, sweet onions, and two kinds of mixed salad leaves. I also pulled out some leeks that I left over the winter because sadly, I was too lazy to pull them out of the ground. I just needed to clean them up a little and peel some "grossness" off them and they are good to go.
Tomorrow I go to Idaho. I have an audio book to keep me company on the 6+ hour drive. I can't wait to see my chubby 5-month-old nephew.
