Eureka rose out of a thick cloud bank over Laguna Beach, British pilot Katherine turned to her German mentor, Fritz and said “But surely the perfect landing takes finesse, skill? One simply can’t thrust forward if there is no part in the clouds.”
“I think you’ll find I can rise to the challenge,” Fritz countered, raising a jovial eyebrow.
“I suppose if the landscape is pleasing enough, “Katherine continued, her voice lingering over carefully chosen words, each syllable slowly igniting the air between them, “One might consider alternative methods in making our fuel supply…last.”
Fritz leaned forward, licking a bead of sweat from his upper lip. “The landscape is pleasing indeed.”
Katherine glanced at Fritz through half-lidded eyes, continuing on with her current train of thought. “Perhaps together then we can find the proper angle for the peak aerodynamic lift.”
Fritz could stand the tension no longer, for it was a steel passenger carriage, constricting his heart. “Katherine!” he exclaimed fervently, “My internal combustion engine burns for you and you alone!”
“Oh, Fritz!” she cried, her passion expanding and contracting like a helium filled sack. “You are the Hindenburg of my heart!”
It was shortly thereafter that Fritz sank into the lower atmosphere that the two achieved maximum pressure height.

I'm so pleased you responded. I was seriously devastated that this masterpiece had only gotten one comment when I posted it on my lj. WHAT'S WRONG WITH PEOPLE? CAN THEY NOT RECOGNIZE GREATNESS?
