I have to Chair a debate on this issue tomorrow. Honestly, reading the comments that some people have made on the website, am I the only person in this country that thinks that a line should be drawn when the government starts telling us what we should wear? All right, if children can't understand what their teaching assistant is saying, then she obviously isn't doing a good job, but why has this all spiralled out of control? Why are we discussing banning veils in workplaces? Are we really so paranoid as a country that we need to be able to see someone's face to feel safe? It's a ridiculous form of Islamophobia, shows just how bigoted this country is. We are the ones with the problem, if we can't see past a veil. Surely a person should be able to wear what they like? Or am I mistaken in thing that the whole point of 'freedom of expression' is ... oh, wait ... that you're free to express yourself?

The world's gone mad.

... and end rant.

In other news: one more day left until the holidays start (hooray! I need the sleep), the driving lessons are progrssing well - I have yet to stall the car, crash it into a wall, or find third gear first time without inadvertantly going into fifth - and if anybody mentions the words 'how', 'is', 'your', 'Cambridge', 'application' and 'going' to me ever again, I shall do something very nasty to them with a screwdriver.
